Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques relate to improved methods, systems, devices, and apparatuses that support power saving of wireless repeaters. Generally, the described techniques provide for wireless device (e.g., wireless repeater, wireless relay device, etc.) power savings in the absence of an attached (e.g., connected) user equipment (UE). For example, a wireless repeater may operate in a power saving mode and monitor for control information from a base station according to a slow state (e.g., according to a relatively long monitoring periodicity). Upon detection of possible UE attachment to the base station (e.g., upon detection of a random access channel (RACH) message), the wireless repeater may transition to monitoring for control information from the base station according to a fast state (e.g., according to a relatively short, or more frequent, monitoring periodicity).

Power saving of smart repeaters

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first wireless device (e.g., user equipment (UE), base station) may determine a block fading pattern associated with a communication link between the first wireless device and a second wireless device, the block fading pattern including a pattern of fluctuating channel quality. The first wireless device may selectively adjust one or more communications parameters for communicating with the second wireless device over the communication link based on the determined block fading pattern. The first wireless device may then communicate with the second wireless device over the communication link based at least in part on the one or more adjusted communications parameters.

Estimation and utilization of a block fading wireless channel

Aspects relate to exchanging beam-related information for a repeater device. A network access node may configure a repeater device to transmit multiple synchronization signal blocks using different beams. The network access node may determine the number of beams that the repeater device can use for its operations. A repeater device may indicate how many beams the repeater device supports, how many antenna arrays it has, and a mapping of beam indices to antenna array indices. A repeater device may indicate which beam pairs cannot be used for simultaneous transmission and/or reception and/or which beam groups can be used for simultaneous transmission and/or reception. A network access node may determine which beam pairs the repeater device cannot use for simultaneous transmission and/or reception and/or which beam groups the repeater device can use for simultaneous transmission and/or reception based on signal measurements and/or beam configuration feedback from the repeater device.

Information for wireless communication repeater device

A method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may be a repeater node. The apparatus may receive, at one or more first antennas of the node, a first signal via at least one first beam. The apparatus may measure, at one or more third antennas of the node, at least one of a power or a quality of at least one third beam. The at least one of the power or the quality of the at least one third beam may be measured at a same time as the first signal is received. The apparatus may forward, at one or more second antennas of the node, the first signal via at least one second beam.

Repeaters capable of simultaneous repeating operation and power detection

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a repeater may receive configuration information associated with configuring involvement of the repeater in an access procedure. The repeater may generate a signal associated with the access procedure based at least in part on the configuration information. The repeater may transmit the signal to a wireless communication device based at least in part on the configuration information and other information associated with the access procedure. Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a repeater may identify one or more parameters for mechanical beam steering. Techniques for using repeaters with multiple upstream nodes in wireless communications

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a repeater may receive configuration information associated with configuring involvement of the repeater in an access procedure; receive a signal associated with the access procedure from a first wireless communication device; and forward the signal associated with the access procedure to a second wireless communication device based at least in part on the configuration information and other information, associated with the access procedure, received by the repeater. Aspects relate to an array antenna and communication using the array antenna. In some examples, the array antenna includes a first array of antenna elements arranged according to a first circle and a second array of antenna elements arranged according to a second circle, where the first circle and the second circle are concentric circles. In some examples, the first array of antenna elements is arranged with an angular offset with respect to the second array of antenna elements. For example, a first radius associated with a first antenna element of the first array of antenna elements may be offset at an angle with respect to a second radius of a second antenna element of the second array of antenna elements.

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a repeater node may receive, from a control node, a configuration that indicates at least one of a time domain reconfiguration or a frequency domain reconfiguration. The repeater node may receive a first signal. The repeater node may process the first signal based at least in part on the configuration. The repeater node may generate at least one second signal based at least in part on the processed first signal. The repeater node may transmit the at least one second signal. Techniques for time and/or frequency domain reconfiguration of a forwarded signal using a repeater node

A first wireless communication device configured to encode real samples of data to obtain encoded data based at least in part on adding one or more time domain complex samples to the real samples of the data, wherein a function of the one or more time domain complex samples is a known value, and wherein the function is a sum of exponentials of the one or more time domain complex samples. The first wireless communication device is configured to transmit, to a second wireless communication device, the encoded data.

Sample-level error-correcting code

Aspects of the disclosure relate to beam configuration for RF repeaters. An RF repeater is configured to measure received power of one or more signals in the repeater for each of a plurality of beam directions. Further, the repeater determines a beam forming configuration for a fronthaul link between the repeater and at least one base station based on the measured received power of each of plurality of beam directions. The repeater may also be configured to determine beam configurations for access links between the repeater and user equipment.

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a digital repeater may receive, from a control node, a configuration that indicates a digital processing operation, wherein the digital processing operation comprises a digital processing option selected from a plurality of digital processing options. The digital repeater may receive a first signal. The digital repeater may perform the digital processing operation on the first signal to generate a second signal, wherein the second signal comprises a re-generated version of the first signal. Forwarding a wireless signal using a digital repeater

Aspects described herein relate to establishing a control connection with at least a first node and a second node for receiving control information for providing a repeater function between two or more wireless nodes. Control information can be communicated over the control connection from one or more of at least the first node or the second node. The repeater can provide, based on the control information, the repeater function between the two or more wireless nodes. Other aspects relate to establishing a control connection with a first node for receiving control information for providing a repeater function for one or more upstream nodes, receiving control information over the control connection, determining a conflict in receiving the control information or a conflict within the control information for two or more upstream nodes, and providing, based on the control information and conflict, the repeater function for the one or more upstream nodes.

Techniques for using multi-connected repeaters in wireless communications

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A base station may identify that data is available to be transmitted to a user equipment (UE) that is operating in a discontinuous reception (DRX) mode. The base station may transmit, based at least in part on the data being available, a first wakeup message using a first band supported by the UE. The base station may transmit, based at least in part on the data being available, a second wakeup message using a second band supported by the UE, the second band being different from the first band.
