Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) may select a weight vector, from a plurality of stored weight vectors, for enabling a spatially multiplexed communication, between a transmitter and a receiver, that includes two or more layers for each polarization of a plurality of polarizations for the spatially multiplexed communication. The RIS may receive the spatially multiplexed communication from the transmitter. The RIS may transmit the spatially multiplexed communication to the receiver in accordance with the weight vector. Weight vector selection for reconfigurable intelligent surface

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for determining a spatial direction of a beam for retransmitting a wireless signal. A method that may be performed by a repeater includes receiving, at the repeater, a signal transmitted by a first node, the signal carrying data intended to be received by a second node. The method may also include determining, by the repeater, a beam direction for retransmitting the received signal to the second node, the beam direction determined based on an object detection process performed by the repeater. The method may also include transmitting, by the repeater to the second node, an amplified retransmission of the received signal using a beam having the determined beam direction.

Determining beam directions of a repeater

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a first node may transmit a set of first values indicating a first estimated value at the first node and a first reliability value associated with the first estimated value, the set of first values being based at least in part on channel state information (CSI) associated with the first node and a set of user equipments (UEs). The first node may receive, from a set of second nodes, a set of second values indicating a second estimated value at the second node and a second reliability value associated with the second estimated value. The first node may transmit, to the set of second nodes, a set of third values indicating a third estimated value at the first node and a third reliability value associated with the third estimated value. In-network distributed processing for precoding and linear detection

Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a base station may determine a transmit power to be used by a downstream node or an amplification gain to be used by the downstream node when relaying or repeating messages to a target node. The base station may transmit, to the downstream node, a message intended for the target node, the message having an indicated transmit power, wherein the message intended for the target node is transmitted by the base station using an actual transmit power. In some aspects, the indicated transmit power is the transmit power to be used by the downstream node, so that when the message intended for the target node is repeated by the downstream node, the indicated transmit power of the repeated message matches the actual transmit power of the repeated message.

Measurement and power control in integrated access fronthaul networks

A relay supporting multiple relay modes is provided. The relay transmits capability information to a base station, the capability information indicating support for a first relay mode and a second relay mode. The relay determines a mode of operation, either on its own or based on an indication of a mode of operation from the base station, wherein the mode of operation comprises the first relay mode or the second relay mode. The relay communicates with at least one of the base station or another wireless device based at least in part on the determined mode of operation.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques relate to improved methods, systems, devices, and apparatuses that support power saving of wireless repeaters. Generally, the described techniques provide for wireless device (e.g., wireless repeater, wireless relay device, etc.) power savings in the absence of an attached (e.g., connected) user equipment (UE). For example, a wireless repeater may operate in a power saving mode and monitor for control information from a base station according to a slow state (e.g., according to a relatively long monitoring periodicity). Upon detection of possible UE attachment to the base station (e.g., upon detection of a random access channel (RACH) message), the wireless repeater may transition to monitoring for control information from the base station according to a fast state (e.g., according to a relatively short, or more frequent, monitoring periodicity).

Power saving of smart repeaters

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first wireless device (e.g., user equipment (UE), base station) may determine a block fading pattern associated with a communication link between the first wireless device and a second wireless device, the block fading pattern including a pattern of fluctuating channel quality. The first wireless device may selectively adjust one or more communications parameters for communicating with the second wireless device over the communication link based on the determined block fading pattern. The first wireless device may then communicate with the second wireless device over the communication link based at least in part on the one or more adjusted communications parameters.

Estimation and utilization of a block fading wireless channel

Aspects relate to exchanging beam-related information for a repeater device. A network access node may configure a repeater device to transmit multiple synchronization signal blocks using different beams. The network access node may determine the number of beams that the repeater device can use for its operations. A repeater device may indicate how many beams the repeater device supports, how many antenna arrays it has, and a mapping of beam indices to antenna array indices. A repeater device may indicate which beam pairs cannot be used for simultaneous transmission and/or reception and/or which beam groups can be used for simultaneous transmission and/or reception. A network access node may determine which beam pairs the repeater device cannot use for simultaneous transmission and/or reception and/or which beam groups the repeater device can use for simultaneous transmission and/or reception based on signal measurements and/or beam configuration feedback from the repeater device.

Information for wireless communication repeater device

A method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may be a repeater node. The apparatus may receive, at one or more first antennas of the node, a first signal via at least one first beam. The apparatus may measure, at one or more third antennas of the node, at least one of a power or a quality of at least one third beam. The at least one of the power or the quality of the at least one third beam may be measured at a same time as the first signal is received. The apparatus may forward, at one or more second antennas of the node, the first signal via at least one second beam.

Repeaters capable of simultaneous repeating operation and power detection

In some aspects, a repeater may receive configuration information associated with configuring involvement of the repeater in an access procedure. In some examples, the array antenna includes a first array of antenna elements arranged according to a first circle and a second array of antenna elements arranged according to a second circle, where the first circle and the second circle are concentric circles. In some examples, the first array of antenna elements is arranged with an angular offset with respect to the second array of antenna elements.
