Module interrogation techniques are described in which modules configured to rely upon one or more operating system features are interrogated to determine which features are used and by which modules. A module is loaded that is configured to interact with a plurality of features provided by an operating system. Using one or more redirection techniques, calls made by the module to access features of the operating system are redirected to alternate functionality. Based on the redirection, data is generated to indicate the features of the operating system that are used by the module. The techniques may be performed for each of a plurality of modules to populate a database that relates features of the operating system to the plurality of modules.

Module interrogation

Runtime code hooking techniques are described in which a place holder instruction within a compiled module is used as an entry point to enable code hooking. A hook function to modify a target function is developed. At runtime, the target function to be modified is located. A place holder instruction within the target function is overwritten with instructions to cause execution of the hook function when the target function is called.

Various embodiments provide a testing infrastructure that abstracts test cases from APIs in a manner that allows for round tripping between production and consumption and APIs.

Abstracting test cases from application program interfaces

Various technologies for validating print configuration documents are described. In accordance with one described embodiment, print configuration documents are analyzed for conformance to a print schema. The print schema comprises syntactical and structural rules for the print configuration documents. Also, a file is generated to identify portions of the print configuration documents that fail to conform to the print schema.
