A system for assessing and monitoring the hemodynamic condition of a patient includes a signal processor and optionally a premise processing system. Additionally, the system can include a biosignal detection device, memory, a display, and any other suitable component. A method for assessing and monitoring the hemodynamic condition of a patient includes: receiving input data; determining a set of windows based on the input data; preprocessing each of the set of windows; processing each of the set of windows; determining a set of features for each of the set of windows; determining a hemodynamic condition for each window based on the set of features; and presenting the hemodynamic condition to a user.

System and method for assessing and monitoring the hemodynamic condition of a patient

A dependent closed pressure vessel is fluidly coupled to an independent closed pressure vessel. A pressure sensor monitors pressure in the vessels to generate raw pressure measurement data. A flow meter monitors multidirectional rate of flow of fluid between the vessels and the volume of fluid flowing from the independent closed pressure vessel to generate raw rate of flow and raw volume measurement data. A pressure/flow regulator valve adjusts pressure in the dependent closed pressure vessel in response to a pressure set point signal generated in response to the raw pressure data, adjusts the rate of flow of fluid between the vessels in response to a rate of flow set point signal generated in response to the raw rate of flow data, and adjusts the rate of flow of fluid between the vessels in response to a volume set point signal generated in response to the raw volume data.

Methods and systems monitor and assess brain bioimpedance through the use of an ocular window that assesses dynamic changes in cerebral blood volume (CBV). That ocular window is implemented through an ocular bioimpedance device that, in a non-invasive manner, measures numerous different brain health indicators using the bioimpedance measurements collected through the regions around the eyes. The ocular bioimpedance device may be goggles with localized measurement electrodes that include cathodes and anodes.

The invention is a passive, wearable sensor that uses a thin piezoelectric material to produce a time history of blood pressure of the patient, with signal processing algorithms to extract physiological information. The sensor consists of a piezoelectric transducer set in a polymer laminate that can be applied to the finger or wrist of the patient. During use, a combination of compressive and bending deformation in the piezoelectric layer in response to blood pressure in the finger or wrist as a voltage output. Using signal processing techniques, the raw signal is filtered and decomposed to obtain a information to form derivative signals such as blood pressure, pulse pressure, pulse pressure variability, heart rate, heart rate variability, and respiratory rate which can be very important pre-cursors in the monitoring of the patient's physiological conditions.

Techniques develop models for classification for physical conditions of a subject based on monitored physiologic signal data. The models for classification are determined from data transformed and feature extracted using a Taut-string transformation and in some instances using a further Stockwell-transformation, applied in parallel or in series. Physical conditions, specifying the state of hemodynamic stability and reflective of the cardiovascular and nervous systems, are thus modeled using these techniques.

Provided is a new hierarchical methodology having a series of computational steps such as adaptive window creation, 2-D SWT application, masking, and boundary tracing is proposed. The techniques and systems are able to detect and quantify fracture as well as to generate recommendations for decision-making and treatment planning in traumatic pelvic injuries.
