Methods, computer systems, and computer-storage media, and graphical user interfaces are provided for facilitating efficient meeting management, according to embodiments of the present technology. In one embodiment, engagement data associated with an attendee of an online meeting is obtained. Thereafter, an engagement metric is generated using the engagement data, the engagement metric indicating an extent of engagement of the attendee to the online meeting. Based on the engagement metric indicating that the extent of engagement of the attendee to the online meeting falls below an engagement threshold, a request is provided to disconnect or throttle an audio and/or video stream of the online meeting to and/or from an attendee device associated with the attendee of the online meeting. Efficient meeting management may also be performed by clustering related messages.

Facilitating efficient meeting management

Techniques for enrolling a user in an organization directory include receiving a first request from a first user for inclusion in the directory configured to facilitate access to a collaboration application, the first request including a least a first user profile item for the first user; generating a first user account for the user assigned a first set of permissions and including a first user profile listing the first user profile item; providing a first level of access to the directory; receiving a second request from a second user transitioning the first user account from the first set of permissions to a second, broader set of permissions; verifying a first user identity for the first user based on the second request; assigning the first user account the second set of permissions; automatically updating the directory; and providing a second level of access to the directory to the first user.

System and method for directory decentralization

Methods and systems for generating a diagram from structured data and synchronizing modifications between the diagram and the structured data. One system includes at least one processor configured to receive a plurality of transformation settings for the structured data and generate and store a plurality of first expressions and a plurality of second expressions based on the structured data and the plurality of transformation settings. The processor is further configured to generate and organize a plurality of visual structures based on the plurality of first expressions and the plurality of second expressions and generate and output a diagram for display through a user interface including the plurality of visual structures. In addition, the processor is configured to receive a modification to the diagram through the user interface, and modify the structured data based on the modification, the plurality of first expressions, and the plurality of second expressions.

Techniques to manage recordings for multimedia conference events are described. An apparatus may comprise a recording management component operative to manage recording and reproduction operations for a multimedia conference event. The recording management component may comprise an event capture module operative to record a multimedia conference event to form a recorded meeting event. The recording management component may comprise an event entity module communicatively coupled to the event capture module, the event entity module operative to generate an entity event list for the recorded meeting event. The recording management component may comprise an event reproduction module communicatively coupled to the event entity module, the event reproduction module operative to reproduce the recorded meeting event. The recording management component may comprise an event interface module communicatively coupled to the event reproduction module, the event interface module operative to display presence information for one or more entities from the entity event list while reproducing the recorded meeting event. Techniques to manage recordings for multimedia conference events

Network disconnections are automatically detected between a client application and a server When a disconnection is detected by either the client or server, a determination is made as to whether the disconnection is a temporary disconnection or a longer-lasting disconnection. While disconnected, attempts are made to automatically reconnect the client and server. During the disconnected period, a subset of communication functions remain operable. When the connection is restored, presence/availability information is automatically delivered to the client.

Maintaining communication connections during temporary network disruptions

Techniques to remotely manage a multimedia conference event are described. An apparatus may comprise a mobile remote control having a communications component operative to establish a wireless connection between a mobile remote control and a multimedia conference server hosting a multimedia conference event. The mobile remote control may include a mobile remote control component communicatively coupled to the communications component, the mobile remote control component operative to manage the multimedia conference event from the mobile remote control by communicating control information and media information with the multimedia conference server for the multimedia conference event over the wireless connection. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Techniques to remotely manage a multimedia conference event

Presence applications running on different devices are used to access and command devices through a communications server. A communication channel is established between at least two instances of a presence application that are running on different devices. A device that is associated with an instance of a presence application is remotely commanded by a received message from the communications server from another instance of the presence application on a different device.

Executing commands on devices through presence applications

Technologies are described herein for relevance-based expiration of data. An initial expiration time for the data is computed based upon an expiration duration associated with the data. The expiration time for the data is periodically re-computed in order to extend the expiration time. A relevance value for the meeting data is computed and the expiration time is set as a function of the computed relevance value. The relevance value may be computed as a product of a user-settable relevance value for the meeting data and a dynamic relevance point for the meeting data. When the computed expiration time for meeting data has been reached, the meeting data is expired, such as through the deletion of the meeting data.

Relevance-based expiration of data

A system that employs out-of-process ('out-of-proc') architectures with respect to malware scanning related to network services applications is provided. The 'out-of-proc' malware (e.g., virus) scanning is employed in connection with a web conferencing server. This architecture enables more versatile options related to scanning, for example, selective bypass in a crisis situation.

Data traffic, latency, and power consumption in a mobile unified communication environment are reduced by optimizing communication between a mobile client application and a mobile data server through determining optimum delay between exchanged messages and/or filtering portions of data not relevant to the mobile client application at the server. Additional optimizations include providing mobile client application relevant updates in an intelligent fashion based on user activity, screen resolution or displayed information, relevant contacts and relevance of information, and similar characteristics.
