Compositions, methods of use and kits for use as a protectant composition and/or cleaning composition. The protectant composition and/or cleaning composition comprises at least one surfactant and at least one rheology modifier, and water. The composition also optionally comprise, pH adjusters, builders, alkalinity sources, wetting agents, spreading agents, UV absorbers. The protectant composition has a viscosity of about 4000 to 6000 cps and exhibits a Vertical Cling parameter of between 1 and about 7 at a temperature of about 25&#xb0; C. on automotive surfaces to which the compositions are applied.

Automotive protectant compositions with improved vertical cling

The present invention relates generally to compositions, methods of use and kits for use as an automotive protectant composition and/or automotive cleaning composition. The protectant composition and/or cleaning composition comprises at least one surfactant and at least one rheology modifier, at least one silicone component, and water. The composition also optionally comprise, pH adjusters, builders, alkalinity sources, wetting agents, spreading agents, UV absorbers. The protectant composition has a viscosity of about 4000 to 6000 cps and exhibits a Vertical Cling parameter of between 1 and about 7 at a temperature of about 25&#xb0; C. on automotive surfaces to which the compositions are applied.

This disclosure relates to compositions containing a) a silicone resin, b) a first silicone fluid having a viscosity from about 1 to about 15,000 centistokes at 25&#xb0; C.; c) a second silicone fluid having a viscosity from about 1 to about 30,000 centistokes at 25&#xb0; C.; d) an acrylic polymer; e) a hydrocarbon solvent; and f) water. The compositions of this disclosure provide long lasting hydrophobic coatings with high water contact angles for automotive surfaces, in which the hydrophobic automotive surfaces possess self-cleaning functions, e.g., water and dirt repellency. This disclosure also relates to methods for treating automotive surfaces and to automotive surfaces coated with the compositions.

Compositions and methods for treating automotive surfaces

A product for treating vehicle surfaces, the product comprising: a) a high molecular weight silanol fluid in an amount from about 10 to about 80 weight percent, b) a catalyst in an amount from about 0.1 to about 15 weight percent, and c) at least one solvent. A kit for treating at least one surface of a vehicle, the kit comprising: a) a product comprising: i) a high molecular weight silanol fluid in an amount from about 10 to about 80 weight percent, ii) a catalyst in an amount from about 0.1 to about 15 weight percent, and iii) at least one solvent; and b) instructions for using the product, the instructions being enclosed with or on a container enclosing the kit, wherein the instructions for using the product include a curing step.

Product for treating vehicle surfaces

The present invention relates generally to compositions and methods of use for an automotive protectant composition and/or automotive cleaning composition. The protectant composition and/or cleaning composition includes silicone, organic solvent, rheology modifier and water. The composition also optionally includes other components. The weight ratio of the silicon to the organic solvent is at least 0.5:1 and generally no more than 3:1. The organic solvent generally is or includes mineral oil.

Silicone protectant compositions

Methods, treatment compositions and treatment systems for forming a detachable and renewable coating on a receptive surface by a process of applying a treatment composition comprising a plurality of hydrophobically modified fumed silica particles colloidally dispersed in a volatile solvent; allowing the volatile solvent to evaporate; and thereby depositing a protective coating on the receptive surface consisting of a layer of the hydrophobically modified particles. The process provides a coating with dirt- and water-repellency properties that effectively shed dry particulate soils as well as water from the treated receptive surface. The methods, treatment compositions and treatment systems are useful in providing detachable coatings and treated articles featuring surface protective benefits including dirt- and water-repellency, self-cleaning with water, and easier cleaning benefits when applied to a variety of automotive and home surfaces, both interior and exterior.

Treatments and kits for creating renewable surface protective coatings

A water-based composition for enhancing shine or gloss in an elastomeric surface is in the form of a stable aqueous dispersion having a pH of from about 6 to about 7 and containing by weight: (a) less than 10% of at least one polydiorganosiloxane fluid; (b) from about 0.02% to about 2.0% of an alkali-swellable acrylic homopolymer or copolymer crosslinked with a polyalkenyl polyether; and (c) water. In one embodiment, the composition contains less than 1% by weight of a wetting agent and has no additional surfactants, hydrotropes and emulsifying agents. The composition can be used to enhance shine or gloss in elastomeric surfaces such as rubber or vinyl, preferably automotive tires, by applying an effective amount of the composition to the surface and distributing the composition with an application implement. The composition contains less organopolysiloxane than commercial formulations but exhibits gloss-enhancing performance that is comparable or even higher than that exhibited by commercial compositions.

Treatments and kits for creating transparent renewable surface protective coatings

A method for processing compositions, compositions obtained by such a process and methods of use are disclosed for forming a detachable and renewable protective coating which is substantially transparent. The inventive process compositions are produced by making a highly concentrated dispersion of hydrophobically modified silica particles in the presence of an optional, yet preferable, disilazane derivative under high shear conditions. These process compositions are intended to be further diluted to final treatment compositions, optionally while adding other functional ingredients.

The first set of colloidal particles can have an average particle size that is greater than the average size of the second set of particles. The number of colloidal particles in the second set of colloidal particles can be greater than the number of colloidal particles in the first set of colloidal particles.
