A system and method for the discovery of Access Point Stations operating on non-Preferred Scanning Channels. In some embodiments, the method includes: receiving, by a non-Access Point Station (non-AP STA), from a first Access Point Station (AP STA), in a transmission on a first channel, a Reduced Neighbor Report (RNR); and determining, by the non-AP STA, from the RNR, that a second AP STA is operating on a second channel, the first channel being a Preferred Scanning Channel (PSC), and the second channel being a non-PSC channel.

The method may further include distributing the PMK from the coordinator to a first member AP and a second member AP of the coordinated AP group. A responding processor is configured to estimate condition of the wireless communication channel and generate a data field. The data field includes a communication parameter based on the estimated condition of the wireless communication channel. The data field is attached to a control frame, and the control frame is transmitted with the attached data field. A transmitting processor is configured to receive the control frame, and determine whether the control frame includes the data field.
