A stent delivery system includes a core member and a coupling assembly rotatably coupled to the core member distal segment. The coupling assembly includes first and second plates and first and second spacers. The first plate is rotatably coupled to the core member and includes an outer surface having three or more projections separated by recesses. The first spacer is coupled to the core member and disposed between the first plate and a proximal restraint. The second plate is rotatably coupled to the core member and includes an outer surface having three or more projections separated by recesses. The second spacer is coupled to the core member and disposed between the first plate and the second plate. A stent extends along the core member distal segment such that an inner surface of the stent is engaged by one or more projections of the first plate or the second plate.

Medical device delivery

Medical device delivery devices, systems, and methods are disclosed herein. According to some embodiments, a medical device delivery system includes a core member and a coupling assembly positioned about the core member. The coupling assembly may include an engagement member having projections configured to engage a medical device and a release member that is movable between a compressed configuration and an expanded configuration. A medical device can extend along the core member such that, when the release member is in the compressed configuration, the projections of the engagement member engage the medical device and when the release member is in the expanded configuration, the release member prevents the projections from engaging the medical device and/or facilitates expansion of the medical device.

Medical device delivery devices, systems, and methods

Expandable devices for occluding bifurcation aneurysms are disclosed herein. Several of the embodiments are directed towards an expandable device comprising a mesh configured to be deployed at a treatment site including blood vessel bifurcation of a human patient so that the mesh extends across a neck of an aneurysm and prevents or limits blood flow through the mesh and into the aneurysm. The mesh can comprise one or more circumferentially discontinuous portions so that, when the device is deployed at the treatment site, the device does not substantially impede flow from a parent blood vessel to two or more branching blood vessels. Systems and methods for delivering an expandable device of the present technology are also disclosed herein.

Expandable devices and associated systems and methods

Retrieval of material from vessel lumens can be improved by electrically enhancing attachment of the material to the removal device. The removal device can have a core assembly that includes a hypotube coupled to a first electrical terminal and a pushwire coupled to a second electrical terminal, the pushwire extending through the hypotube lumen. An insulating layer separates the hypotube and the pushwire, and an interventional element is coupled to a distal end of the pushwire. The interventional element can be disposed adjacent to a thrombus. An electrical signal is delivered to the interventional element to promote adhesion of the thrombus to the interventional element. The electrical signal can optionally be a periodic waveform, and the total energy delivered can be between 0.75-24,000 mJ and the peak current delivered via the electrical signal can be between 0.5-5 mA.

Electrically enhanced retrieval of material from vessel lumens

A stent delivery system includes a core member and an expandable member coupled to the core member distal segment. A stent extends along the core member distal segment such that an inner surface of the stent is positioned over the expandable member. The stent has a primary heat-set configuration where the stent is radially expanded, and a secondary heat-set configuration where the stent is radially compressed. The expandable member is adapted to radially expand at least a portion of the stent from a radially compressed configuration toward a radially expanded configuration.

A stent delivery system can include a core member having a distal portion, where the distal portion is configured to be positioned within a lumen of the stent; a cover having a first end portion coupled to the distal portion of the core member and a free second end portion, the cover having (a) a first position in which the second end portion of the cover is configured to at least partially surround a proximal end portion of the stent while the stent is positioned over the core member in a compressed state, and (b) a second position in which the second end portion of the cover is uncoupled from the stent; and a shoulder coupled to the distal portion of the core member at a location distal to the first end portion of the cover, the shoulder configured to abut the proximal end portion of the stent.

Delivery of medical devices

Retrieval of material from vessel lumens can be improved by use of a distal element comprising an expandable mesh. a treatment device includes an elongated member having a proximal portion and a distal portion configured to be positioned within a blood vessel at a treatment site at or near a thrombus. A distal element comprising an expandable mesh is coupled to the distal portion of the elongated member via a connection assembly. In an expanded state, at least a portion of the mesh is configured to be in apposition with the blood vessel wall at the treatment site to anchor or stabilize the elongated member with respect to the blood vessel. The distal element can be electrically coupled to an extracorporeal current generator.

Retrieval of material from corporeal lumens

A medical treatment device is disclosed herein. In one example, the medical treatment device includes a core assembly which has a first conduct and a second conductor. An insulative material can surround the second conductor and define an electrode portion of the second conductor that is uncovered by the insulative material. The medical treatment device can include an interventional element that electrical couples to the first conductor. The electrode portion of the second conductor can be disposed radially adjacent to or distal of the interventional element.

Thrombectomy treatment system

A medical device delivery system includes a joining element with a bumper having a distal end portion configured to engage a proximal portion of a medical device and a proximal end portion adjacent a distal end portion of an elongated tubular member. The proximal end portion defines a slot having a length along a first direction. The joining element further includes an aperture extending through the bumper and having a first, greater, cross-sectional dimension along a second direction and a second, smaller, cross-sectional dimension along a third direction. The system can include an elongated shaft having a distal region and a flattened region proximal of the distal region, the flattened region having a greatest cross-sectional dimension that is smaller than the first cross-sectional dimension but larger than the second cross-sectional dimension The flattened region can be received within the slot.

A stent coupler for use with a medical device delivery system is disclosed. A stent delivery system includes a core member having a distal segment and a coupler positioned about the core member distal segment. The coupler is rotatably coupled to the core member and includes a rigid plate having a first end surface, a second end surface, and a side surface extending between the first and second end surfaces, the side surface comprising one or more projections separated by recesses. The delivery system further includes a stent extending along the core member distal segment such that an inner surface of the stent is engaged by the one or more projections of the engagement member.

Coupling units for medical device delivery systems

Systems and methods for treating an aneurysm in accordance with embodiments of the present technology include intravascularly delivering an occlusive member to an aneurysm cavity via an elongated shaft and transforming a shape of the occlusive member within the cavity. The method may include introduction of an embolic element to a space between the occlusive member and an inner surface of the aneurysm wall. In some embodiments, the elongated shaft is detachably coupled to a distal portion of the occlusive member.

Devices, systems, and methods for treatment of intracranial aneurysms

Expandable devices are disclosed herein. Several of the embodiments are directed towards an expandable device comprising a mesh configured to be expanded at a blood vessel bifurcation of a human patient. The mesh may comprise a tubular body portion and one or more circumferentially discontinuous articulating portions. The mesh may be expanded such that the one or more articulating portions are positioned at an angle to the tubular body portion.
