The present disclosure generally discloses a channel state prediction capability. In a communication system including a transmitter and a receiver communicating via a communication channel, the channel state prediction capability may enable the transmitter to transmit to the receiver via the communication channel based on a predicted channel state of the communication channel. The predicted channel state may be a prediction of the channel state at a future time at which data transmitted by the transmitter is expected to be received by the receiver, which may be based on a total round trip latency of the communication channel. The predicted channel state may include one or more parameters (e.g., a predicted channel quality indicator, a predicted rank indicator, or the like). The predicted channel state may be predicted based on predictions of channel state factors which may impact the channel state of the communication channel (e.g., path loss, shadow fading, fast fading, or the like).

A capability for modifying parameters of a wireless access node is provided. The capability for modifying parameters of a wireless access node may support use of parameter monitoring and computation functions to jointly improve or optimize capacity for voice and data users in wireless networks. The capability for modifying parameters of a wireless access node may include detecting a trigger event associated with the wireless access node, modifying a signal-to-interference-and-noise ratio (SINR) threshold of the wireless access node responsive to the trigger event, modifying a call admission control (CAC) threshold of the wireless access node based on evaluation of a parameter associated with modification of the SINR threshold of the wireless access node, and further modifying the CAC threshold of the wireless access node based on evaluation of a parameter associated with modification of the CAC threshold of the wireless access node.

Modifying parameters of a wireless access node

A low-cost, low-power, low-complexity, small, high-reliability, robust, seamless satellite communication network is described. The network performs encoding of a user signal at the customer premises to enable routing of the user signal to an appropriate destination beam at the satellite requiring low power user signal processing. Routing information is embedded at the periphery of the network CPE's rather than at the satellite. Embedding the routing information in this way greatly reduces on-board switching complexity and increases signal to interference ratio for the user.

A method of allocating resources for transmitting content from a network element in a communications network to one or more mobile devices each in communication with the network element may include receiving, at the network element, characteristic information corresponding to each of the one or more mobile devices; and generating one or more adaptive guaranteed bit rate (AGBR) values at the network element corresponding to each of the one or more mobile devices, respectively. The AGBR values may be GBR values generated for each of the one or more mobile devices based on the corresponding characteristic information. A first scheduling algorithm may be executed at the network element based on the one or more AGBR values; and resources may be allocated to the one or more mobile devices based on an output of the scheduling algorithm.

A method for a communications network includes receiving, by a network controller, broadcast content from at least one content source. The method includes synchronizing, by the network controller, with at least a first and second base station. The at least first and second base stations are associated with the network controller. The method includes transmitting, by the network controller, the broadcast content to the at least first and second base stations based on the synchronization such that the broadcast content is transmitted from the at least first and second base stations at desired times.

Methods and devices for obtaining a single frequency network in a network multi-input multi-output communications system

The present invention provides a method of providing rate tiers in a wireless communication system. Embodiments of the method include forming, at a network element in the wireless communication system, a statistical representation of resource usage for a user in the wireless communication system as a function of location and/or time using measurements of the user's resource usage at a plurality of locations. Embodiments of the method also include defining, at the network element, a plurality of rate tiers based on the statistical representation. Each rate tier indicates a rate for a different level of resource usage offered to the user.

Method of providing rate tiers in wireless communication systems

The present invention provides a method of coordinating the downlink transmissions from a plurality of base stations to at least one mobile unit. The method is implemented in a control plane entity and includes receiving, at the control plane entity and from each of the plurality of base stations, channel state information for a plurality of wireless communication channels between the plurality of base stations and one or more mobile units. The present subject matter provides a method for implementation in a wireless communication system that includes a plurality of base stations for providing wireless connectivity to at least a first mobile unit. A first signal processed using a first permutation mapping is communicated between the first mobile unit and a first base station. A second signal processed using the first permutation mapping is communicated between the first mobile unit and a second base station different than the first base station. The first and second signals are processed based on the first permutation mapping to extract data therefrom.
