Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may measure a first energy level of a demodulation reference signal (DMRS). The UE may measure a second energy level of at least one of a tracking reference signal (TRS) or a synchronization signal block (SSB). The UE may determine, based at least in part on the first energy level and the second energy level, a DMRS signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). The UE may perform, based at least in part on the DMRS SNR, channel estimation for a physical channel associated with a communication to determine an estimated channel. The UE may perform, based at least in part on the estimated channel, demodulation processing for the communication. Numerous other aspects are described.

Techniques for demodulation reference signal based signal-to-noise ratio for demodulation processing

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine an actual power delay profile (PDP) associated with a channel between the UE and a base station, wherein the actual PDP indicates an averaged power level of the channel over a period of time. The UE may determine whether a channel estimation mode switching event is satisfied. The UE may switch, based at least in part on the channel estimation mode switching event being satisfied, between a first channel estimation mode based at least in part on the actual PDP and a second channel estimation mode based at least in part on a template PDP. Numerous other aspects are described.

Switching between channel estimation modes at a user equipment

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may transmit a sounding reference signal (SRS) to a base station using an SRS antenna switch (SRS-AS) or an SRS carrier switch (SRS-CS) transmission technique and the UE may feature multiple antenna groups that have separate exposure budgets due to their spatial separation. The UE may employ one or more accounting procedures for tracking energy contributions associated with the SRS across the multiple antenna groups of the UE and may employ one or more power control procedures for setting a transmit power for an uplink signal in accordance with the energy contributions associated with the SRS.

Techniques for accounting for energy contributions from sounding reference signal transmissions over multiple antenna groups towards an exposure limit

A device may selectively listen for a tracking reference signal (TRS) during connected mode discontinuous reception (CDRx) based on whether the device is to switch between repeaters of a base station (such as during travel). A device may determine whether the device is in a high speed train (HST) scenario (such as based on a difference in frequency errors generated using a synchronization signal block (SSB) and generated using a TRS, based on a trajectory of a frequency error or a frequency error difference over time, based on instantaneous frequency errors, etc.). When the device is in a HST scenario, the device listens for a TRS during CDRx, and the device generates a frequency error using the TRS. When the device is not in a HST scenario, the device prevents listening for a TRS during CDRx (with a SSB received during CDRx to be used to generate a frequency error).

Selective listening for a tracking reference signal (TRS) during connected mode discontinuous reception (CDRx)

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit a grant delay request to a base station. The grant delay request may indicate a future time, at or thereafter a base station is requested to allocate resources to the UE. The base station may transmit the uplink grant to the UE allocating the resources to the UE based on the grant delay request, and the UE may transmit, to the base station, an uplink transmission including the uplink data based on the uplink grant. The UE may transmit the grant delay request as part of a scheduling request (SR), or as part of a buffer status report (BSR), or a combination of these.

Delayed grant for wireless communication

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a wireless communication device may determine, based at least in part on two or more measurements on a channel taken at different points in time, that the channel is classified as static. The wireless communication device may perform at least one optimization based at least in part on determining that the channel is classified as static. For example, the at least one optimization may include modifying a channel state feedback procedure, reducing a periodicity associated with a measurement gap, modifying a filtering associated with measurements of the channel, reducing a threshold associated with beam switching, and/or refraining from performing at least one filtering at a radio frequency receiver of the wireless communication device. Numerous other aspects are described.

Detecting static channels

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment may receive downlink data that is associated with triggering a feedback message; transmit, before receiving the feedback message for the downlink data at a component of the user equipment, a scheduling request to request an allocation of a set of resources for transmitting the feedback message; and transmit the feedback message in connection with the set of resources. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Low-latency scheduling request configuration

Some techniques and apparatuses described herein protect components of a user equipment (UE), such as a low noise amplifier (LNA), from internal interference. For example, the LNA may be disconnected from a receive chain during periods of high internal interference, and may be reconnected to the receive chain during periods of low internal interference. Furthermore, some techniques and apparatuses described herein improve performance by adjusting operations of the UE to account for and/or offset increased internal interference due to a receive chain that does not include a surface acoustic wave (SAW) filter to remove unwanted radio frequency signals. For example, one or more operations of a baseband processor may be modified to account for the increased internal interference. Additionally, or alternatively, reporting of channel state information may be modified to account for increased internal interference of the UE. Additional details are described herein.

Filterless multiple input multiple output (MIMO) reception

In an aspect, a UE may determine a set of parameters associated with each of a plurality of different operation modes supported by the UE and transmit UE capability information including the set of parameters to a base station, where at least one operation mode comprises a power efficient mode. The UE may receive configuration information based on the UE capability information including an indication of an operation mode of the plurality of different operation modes. A base station may receive UE capability information including a set of parameters associated with each of a plurality of different operation modes supported by a UE and determine an operation mode of the plurality of different operation modes for the UE based on the UE capability information. The base station may transmit configuration information including an indication of the operation mode of the plurality of different operation modes.

Methods and apparatus for supporting multiple power and spectrum efficient modes for power saving

A method of wireless communication includes identifying one or more coexistence issues corresponding to a utilized set of communication resources of a User Equipment (UE). The method also includes communicating an indication of the coexistence issue(s) to a serving base station.

Method and apparatus to facilitate support for multi-radio coexistence

Aspects described herein relate to decoding downlink control information (DCI) based on multiple DCI sizes. A first hypothesis of multiple hypotheses for decoding a communication received in a control channel search space, wherein the multiple hypotheses are based on different corresponding DCI sizes can be determined. The communication received in the control channel search space can be decoded based on the first hypothesis. For each of the multiple hypotheses and based on the different corresponding DCI sizes, information bits can be extracted from the communication as decoded. For each extracting of the information bits, cyclic redundancy check (CRC) can be performed based on one of the different corresponding DCI sizes to determine whether extracting of the information bits yields DCI.

Techniques for decoding downlink control information with different sizes in wireless communications

Techniques for access terminal radio link monitoring on a shared communication medium are disclosed. In an aspect, an access terminal detects a missed reference signal event associated with a radio link established on the shared communication medium, wherein detecting the missed reference signal event comprises determining that the access terminal did not detect a reference signal for measuring a quality of the radio link transmitted during a reference signal configuration window, assigns an error metric to the missed reference signal event based on reference signal monitoring capabilities of the access terminal, and triggers a radio link failure based on the assigned error metric. In an aspect, the missed reference signal event may be a missed Discovery Reference Signaling (DRS) event, the error metric may be a Block Error Rate (BLER) weight, and the reference signal for measuring the quality of the radio link comprises a Cell-specific Reference Signal (CRS).

Access terminal radio link monitoring (RLM) on a shared communication medium

Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for the user equipment (UE) to select a power management mode from a plurality of power management modes supported by the UE based on decoding of a portion of the downlink subframe. For example, when the UE receives a subframe from a base station, the UE may decode a control channel region of the subframe to determine whether the subframe includes a channel grant allocated to the UE. If no channel grant is included in the subframe, the UE may select a power management mode for the UE from the plurality of power management modes supported by the UE that maximizes the UE's sleep opportunities while balancing the deficient performance costs.

Techniques to control UE power-usage on shared downlink shared channel region of a subframe

Techniques are described for wireless communication at a wireless communication device. A determination may be made regarding the number of receive chains, of a plurality of receive chains, to enable for a channel. Power to the receive chains may be regulated based on the determined number of enabled receive chains. The determination may be based on a transmission scheduling rate for the wireless communication device and a rank for the channel. In some examples, the determination may further be based on a channel quality of the channel and/or a type of traffic scheduled for the channel.

Techniques for determining a number of receive chains to enable for a channel

Optimizing multiflow performance and priority across UEs and networks including receive antenna selection at the UEs, CSI measurement and reporting, and scheduling for multiflow operation. The techniques may evaluate channel conditions for a UE for multiple access points and different combinations of antennas and determine how the UE should feedback CSI for transmissions from the multiple access points. The disclosed techniques also include techniques for scheduling transmissions from the multiple access points using the CSI information to optimize multiflow performance and priority across UEs and networks. Various scheduling modes use feedback from UEs including the maximum supported rates for each link and/or rates based on the maximum sum capacity of the links used concurrently. The scheduler may maintain separate priority lists for each access point or a single priority list across both access points. The techniques may be used for multiflow operation using LTE and WLAN links.
