The present invention discloses a method of making a non-biodegradable flexible packaging substrate biodegradable. The method comprises the steps of (i) providing a substrate web from an unwind to a coating station (402), (ii) applying thin layer of uniform deposition of a curable coating on at least one surface of the substrate partially or completely by the coating station wherein the external surface of the substrate is essentially coated, (iii) curing the coating applied on the substrate web by a curing unit, and (iv) collecting the coated substrate web in roll at rewind. Further, the thickness of the thin layer of uniform deposition is in the range of 0.01 gsm to 10 gsm.

Biodegradable polymeric substrate and a method of producing the substrate

The present invention relates to a flexible package for providing security against counterfeiting. The flexible package includes a plurality of panels made of a flexible polymeric substrate, which further includes a front panel, a rear panel arranged in opposite to the front panel defining an interior space of the package and at least one longitudinal narrow window portion on at least one panel. A transparent or translucent polymeric security strip is having a clear high barrier coating, is sealed over the window portion towards inner side of the panel overlapping the edges of the window portion but not overlapping the entire panel, a security feature is provided on the strip on at least one of its surface at a predefined location or random places or all over the strip surface for securing the package against counterfeiting.

Embodiments of the disclosure relate to a blister package having a laminate structure that is heat-sealable to a lacquer layer on strain-hardened aluminum foil. The blister package includes a lid layer comprising a strain-hardened aluminum foil, a lacquer layer on a sealing surface of the strain-hardened aluminum foil and a laminate structure sealed directly to the lacquer layer. The laminate structure includes a multilayer film and a plurality of wells formed therethrough. The multilayer film includes a first formable layer of a thermoplastic material and a sealing layer of a copolyester material. The sealing layer overlies the first formable layer and has an outer surface opposite the first formable layer. The sealing layer has crystallinity from 5% to 20% as measured by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The outer surface of the sealing layer is sealed directly against the lacquer layer.

The present invention describes a process of manufacturing biodegradable PET chips, comprising the steps of providing a purified terephthalic acid (PTA) in a predetermined quantity in a slurry tank; providing virgin monoethylene glycol (MEG) in a predetermined quantity in the slurry tank; transferring the combination of the slurry tank to an esterification reactor for esterification of the combination in the reactor at above 250° C. temperature which releases monomers; transferring the monomers from the esterification reactor to a polymerisation reactor; providing poly-catalysts such as, but not limited, to Ti-based catalyst, sb2O3 or any other suitable catalysts or combination thereof into the polymerisation reactor; and polymerization of the monomers in the polymerisation reactor at above 280° C. temperature, wherein an enzyme based composition is provided either at PTA/MEG stage or poly-catalyst stage or at other stages or combination thereof.

The easy-to-tear packaging laminate of the present invention is obtained by providing a plurality of non-through micro-indentations on at least one surface of at least one layer of the packaging laminate. The micro-indentations are located over the entire or partial surface area of the corresponding surfaces of the layers of the laminate. The micro-indentations may have a depth between 1&#x2dc;70% of the thickness of the polymeric layer. The density of the micro-indentations on a particular surface may be from 10/cmto 10,000/cm.

The method () includes steps of sealing a handle patch () on at least one half width of the side gusset laminate ().
