A system and method is used to protect a motor of a submersible pumping system. A variety of motor protector features are provided to facilitate operation of the motor protector and submersible pumping system in multiple wellbore environments and applications.

Protector for electrical submersible pumps

A method of sampling fluid from a rock formation penetrated by a borehole includes positioning a downhole tool having a flow line in the borehole, establishing an inlet port through which fluid passes from a first point in the formation into the flow line, establishing an outlet port through which fluid passes from the flow line into a second point in the formation, and passing fluid between the formation and the flow line through the inlet and outlet ports.

Method and apparatus for balanced pressure sampling

A formation fluid sampling tool is provided with a drill which drills into the formation in a manner perpendicular or oblique to the borehole wall. The tool comprises a mechanism for enhancing the mobility of the reservoir fluid, such as a heating element on the drill, hot fluid which is generated in the tool and injected into the drilled hole, or a solvent which is stored in the tool and injected by the tool into the drilled hole.

Method and apparatus for sampling high viscosity formation fluids

A marking system and method for a well site sample is provided. The system includes a container for collecting the well site sample, a marker applied to the container and a scanner adapted to read the marker. Data may be uploaded to and/or downloaded from the marker.

A method and system of subsea intervention comprises lowering one or more assemblies of intervention equipment into the sea. Underwater marine units (such as remote operated vehicles or small submarines) may be employed to connect the assemblies to each other and to the subsea wellhead equipment. The subsea wellhead equipment includes a carrier line spool (e.g., coiled tubing spool, wireline spool, slickline spool) and equipment to inject a carrier line from the carrier line spool into the subsea well. The carrier line spool can be located underwater, such as on the sea floor or positioned above the subsea wellhead equipment.

Subsea intervention

A system and method for protecting a motor for a submersible pumping system. A variety of motor protectors are provided for application in variable temperature environments and multiple wellbore orientations. The motor protectors may include one or more of a positively pressurized bellows, a relatively balanced pressure bellows free of sliding seals, and a multi-orientable labyrinth. Each of these motor protectors also may have various moisture absorbents, filters, particle shedders and various conventional motor protector components.

An integrated pumping system for use in environments, such as subterranean environments, to move a desired fluid from one location to another. The integrated pumping system comprises one or more stages that each have an integrated pump and motor. A controller may be utilized to individually control the one or more integrated pumps and motors.

Integrated pumping system for use in pumping a variety of fluids

A method and system of subsea intervention comprises lowering one or more assemblies of intervention equipment into the sea. Underwater marine units (such as remote operated vehicles or small submarines) may be employed to connect the assemblies to each other and to the subsea wellhead equipment. The subsea wellhead equipment includes a carrier line spool (e.g., coiled tubing spool, wireline spool, slickline spool) and equipment to inject a carrier line from the carrier line spool into the subsea well. The carrier line spool can be located underwater, such as on the sea floor or positioned above the subsea wellhead equipment. The carrier line spool can also be located on a sea vessel. Also, to switch tools, a carousel system having multiple chambers containing different types of tools can be used.

A system for creating an image of a combination of a completion string in a wellbore. An image of the wellbore is received and created. In addition, modeled data of the completion string is also created and received. The wellbore image data is combined with the completion string model data to create an image of the completion string positioned in the wellbore. Based on the combined image of the wellbore and a completion string, possible problem areas and optimum production zones are identified. The wellbore and completion string are deflected based on relative characteristics of the wellbore and completion string.

Imaging a completion string in a wellbore

A system for reliably indexing and separating sidewall core samples obtained with a sidewall coring tool comprises markers made of a magnetic material and a mechanism body made of a combination of magnetic and non-magnetic materials to reliably insert and position markers in between successive core samples. The sidewall core is not altered in any way by the marking process. Further, a flexible rubber boot apparatus is disclosed to ensure the complete transfer of retrieved samples in cases where the sample is broken, shattered or segmented and to ensure that broken, shattered or segmented cores will be retrieved in cases where the borehole is horizontal and the tool must operate in a horizontal position or in any other rotational orientation.
