Low VOC lubricant compositions

A lubricant formulation contains: (a) at least 50 weight-percent hydrocarbon base oil; (b) five to 50 weight-percent of an oil soluble polyalkylene glycol selected from monol, diol and triol initiated 1,2-butylene oxide homopolymer and monol initiated copolymers of 1,2-butylene oxide and propylene oxide; and (c) 0.1 to five weight-percent or less of a sulfurized olefin; where weight-percent is based on total lubricant formulation weight.

Enhanced extreme pressure lubricant formulations

A diesel particulate filter system comprising: a temperature sensor on the inlet side of the diesel particulate filter; a temperature sensor on the outlet side of the diesel particulate filter; a pressure sensor on the inlet side of the diesel particulate filter; and a control module in communication with the temperature sensors and the pressure sensor, and the control module is loaded with a look-up table that correlates the amount of soot loaded in the diesel particulate filter to a change in pressure measured by the pressure sensor; wherein the control module Initiates a regeneration cycle when soot loading of the diesel particulate filter achieves a predetermined soot load.

Method and apparatus for decreasing fuel comsumption during particulate filter generation

Organic polymer particles are provided in a cement composition that is used to apply a skin to a ceramic honeycomb, or to bond the ceramic honeycomb to another honeycomb or another material. The presence of the organic polymer particles reduces the penetration of the cement composition through porous walls of the honeycomb. In this way, less blocking of the honeycomb cells is seen, and the reduction in thermal shock performance that is often seen when cement compositions are applied to ceramic honeycombs is reduced.

The present invention includes devices and methods of forming a structural component of a transportation vehicle and preferably an automotive vehicle. The invention includes a hybrid structure, preferably formed of two or more components that are bonded together with an adhesive to form a structural component that is lighter in weight than that of traditional components formed out of metal. The hybrid component is also substantially free of an over-molding process. Advantageously, one or more snap-fits or the like may be used to position and maintain spatial relationship of the two or more components during assembly, and compression and curing of the adhesive.
