Disclosed is a cosmetic composition comprising (i) 0.5 to 20 wt % of an organic sunscreen; and (ii) 2 to 60 wt % of a blend comprising a silicone elastomer gel of the Formula (I) and a non-silicone solvent selected from a hydrocarbon, an oil, a modified oil, an ester, an ether, an alcohol or a mixture thereof; wherein the composition comprises less than 1 wt % volatile silicone solvent. The invention relates to a personal cleansing composition that delivers enhanced deposition of sunscreens on to the topical surface of the body. The composition more particularly provides for such wash off compositions that ensure that the sunscreens incorporated therein are stable and due to the high deposition on to surface provide high Sun Protection Factor (SPF). This is achieved through combination of two select water-soluble sunscreens in a high surfactant containing composition.

High SPF skin cleansing composition

The present invention relates to a broad spectrum stable sunscreen molecule having the general structure (Formula) where 'X' is an organic sunscreen belonging to the UVA class and 'Y' is an organic sunscreen belonging to UVB class or vice-versa. The invention also relates to a stable sunscreen composition comprising the inventive sunscreen molecule, a UV-B organic sunscreen and a cosmetically acceptable base. The invention also relates to a method of providing UV protection to the sun-exposed parts of human or animal body comprising the step of applying the above composition. 

Sunscreen molecule and compositions thereof

The invention relates to a photoprotective personal care composition that provides enhanced stability of the UV-A sunscreen present therein. The present inventors have found that it is possible to enhance stability of the UV-A sunscreen of the dibenzoylmethane group by including certain compounds of the chalcone group.

Photoprotective personal care composition

The invention relates to a photostable sunscreen composition that not only provides enhanced sun protection by way of high SPF, but does that over sustained period of time after applying the composition on the skin. The present inventors have found that when a compound of the triazine group is used without additional UVA or UVB sunscreen, and a non-ionic surfactant is included in a cosmetic base comprising fatty acids, it is possible to achieve high SPF.

The present invention relates to a personal care composition. More particularly the present invention relates to stabilization of UVA sunscreen dibenzoylmethane derivatives or even more particularly Parsol 1789&#x2122; (4-t-butyl-4'-methoxydibenzoylmethane) in personal care compositions. It is an object of the present invention to provide a personal care composition with relatively long photoprotection efficiency. It is another object of the present invention to stabilize Parsol 1789 by use of a natural substance or materials derived from plants. Surprisingly the present inventors have found that theaflavin or black tea extract having high levels of theaflavin, can act as a photostabilizer for dibenzoylmethane derivatives or Parsol-1789&#x2122;.

Personal care composition

The present invention relates to silicone compounds which have photoprotective properties and personal care compositions comprising the same. The present inventors, in developing a sunscreen that gives protection against both UV radiation and visible radiation, found that when a certain moiety generally occurring in nature i.e. hydroxyanthraquinone having uv-visible absorption activity are attached to crosslinked silicone polymers they provide not only the desired photoprotection but also excellent spreadability on skin.
