A process for treating a keratinous substrate involving: (a) providing at least a first composition having a continuous phase whose major ingredient has a solubility parameter corresponding to &#x3b4;; (b) providing at least a second composition having a continuous phase whose major ingredient has a solubility parameter corresponding to &#x3b4;'; and (c) combining (a) and (b) prior to, or during, their application onto the keratinous substrate, and wherein the difference between &#x3b4; and &#x3b4;&#x2032; is greater than 12, and wherein the major ingredient is chosen from a hydrophilic polar material, an organic non-polar material and an inorganic non-polar material.

Composition and process for treating keratinous substrates with at least two immiscible cosmetic compositions

Disclosed are cosmetic compositions containing a polypropylsilsesquioxane, a volatile solvent, boron nitride, and silica. Also disclosed are methods for making the cosmetic compositions and applying them to keratinous tissue such as skin in order to enhance its appearance.

Provided is a composition and especially a cosmetic composition comprising: A) an oily phase and B) an aqueous phase which comprises: a) water, b) a pigment, c) a modified phospholipid, and d) an alkyl substituted diol comprising 5 or more carbons; wherein the composition is in the form of an water-in-oil emulsion, and wherein the pigment essentially remains in the water phase. Also provide is a method of producing the composition which comprises: 1) obtaining a mixture of a modified phospholipid and an alkyl substituted diol comprising 5 or more carbons in the alkyl chain; 2) obtaining a mixture of water and a pigment; 3) combining the mixture of the modified phospholipids and the alkyl substituted diol with the mixture of the pigment and water; 4) obtaining an oil composition; and 5) combining the mixture from 3) with the oil composition of 4) to form an water-in-oil emulsion.
