In one embodiment, a method includes identifying a plurality of locations associated with a conference system that has a conference server and a mixer, and prioritizing the locations by assigning a first priority to at least a first location and assigning a second priority to a second location. The second priority is lower than the first priority. The method also includes processing received media streams such that media streams received from endpoints associated with the first location are processed as having a higher priority than media streams received from endpoints associated with the second location.

In one embodiment, a method comprises storing information associated with a conference call that has previously been terminated. The method also comprises obtaining a request to re-establish the terminated conference call, and re-establishing the conference call in response to the request to re-establish the conference call. Re-establishing the conference call comprises using the stored information to set a first set of states associated with the re-established conference call.

Reconferencing capability for networked phones

In one embodiment, a system for conducting a conference session among a group of participants includes a server for establishing communication channels over a network connected with endpoint devices of the participants. The server operates to allocate initial resources on the network to conduct the conference session, the initial resources including the communication channels and at least one conferencing bridge. Code running on the server selects one or more different resources currently available during the conference session. The one or more different resources is selected to optimize a quality of service (QoS) criteria. Execution of the code causes the server to move the conference session to the one or more different resources responsive to a triggering event. In one embodiment, a method comprises receiving through a telephony user interface from a user at the telephony user interface an indication of a first direction of a sound source along a first axis with respect to the user and a second direction of the sound source along a second axis with respect to the user. Techniques for storing voicemails in real-time in a caller's voicemail system when a voicemail is left in a callee's voicemail system are provided. A connection to the callee's voicemail system is detected during a call from the caller to the callee. When a voicemail is being left on the caller's voicemail system, a copy of the voicemail message is automatically forked to the caller's voicemail system. Thus, when a voicemail message is recorded on the callee's voicemail system, a copy of the voicemail message is also stored on the caller's voicemail system.

Disclosed are conferencing systems, devices, architectures, and methods for implementing a trigger-based conferencing system to facilitate increased productivity meeting participation. A system and method for providing captioning in a conference. In an illustrative embodiment, the method includes establishing a conference between a first participant and a second participant. The conference exhibits an exchange of a first type of media between the participants. A user option is provided to augment the conference with a second type of media corresponding to the first type of media. The second type of media is then generated based on one or more conference parameters in response to the signal. In a more specific embodiment, the second type of media is automatically generated. The first type of media is provided approximately concurrently with the second type of media. The second type of media, which may represent text captions, is then selectively provided to one or more participants in the conference based on predetermined preferences.

A processor-implemented method of operation for managing a push-to-talk (PTT) session involving a plurality of participants includes applying a first floor control algorithm at a PTT server. The first floor control algorithm being selected from a plurality of algorithms that arbitrate among talk requests received from the participants.
