The present invention has an objective to easily obtain an emulsion exhibiting superior storage stability, and in particular, an emulsion of a polyorganosiloxane. The present invention provides a method for producing an emulsion characterized by obtaining an emulsion by emulsifying a mixture of an oil and a surfactant, obtained by synthesizing the surfactant in the oil. In particular, the method is suitably used for the preparation of an emulsion of an organopolysiloxane (A) which is usually difficult to be stably emulsified. A silicone-based surfactant (B), and in particular, a silicone-based surfactant having a small degree of polymerization of a siloxane chain such as a trisiloxane is synthesized in an oil. Thereby, an emulsion exhibiting superior storage stability can be produced.

A polyoxyalkylene-modified organopolysiloxane that generates almost no odor with the passage of time, and a method for preparation of the polyoxyalkylene-modified organopolysiloxane. This organopolysiloxane bears polyoxyalkylene bonded to silicon across alkylene, and contains 5-1,000 ppm by weight of an antioxidant. It also has a peroxide value not exceeding 5 meq/kg, and a total content of aldehyde plus ketone not exceeding 100 ppm.

Antiperspirant/deodorants contain 5-90 wt % of spheroid silicone rubber powders with average particle sizes of 0.1-200 .mu.m and JIS A hardness of the silicone rubber forming said powder is 35-80. They spread well, are smooth, and have a dry feel when used.

A water repellent powdered material and a method of making the powder in which the powdered material is mixed with an organic solvent solution of a triorganosiloxysilicic acid having the formula (R.sub.3 SiO.sub.1/2).sub.2 nSiO.sub.2 in which R is a monovalent hydrocarbon radical such as alkyl, aryl, and alkenyl; and n is an integer having a value of one to five; with the acid being present in an amount of from 0.1 to 20 parts by weight per one hundred parts by weight of the powdered material. A method for producing powder mixtures capable of inducing an even more intimate, microhomogeneous intermixing in a heterogeneous powder composed of at least two types of powders. The method is effective even for the mixing of an aggregable powder and a nonaggregable powder. According to the method, a heterogeneous powder composed of at least two type of powders that have been preliminarily mixed by stirring is introduced into an inlet while a rotating axle is turning and is axially transported within a cylinder by a screw. As the heterogeneous powder passes between rotating disks and fixed disks, it is subjected to a highly efficient mixing by compression and shear forces due to a sliding-shear action exerted between depressions and elevations installed on the opposing surfaces of the rotating disks and fixed disks. The mixture passes in sequence through multiple stages of the rotating and fixed disks. A powder mixture, which has been microhomogeneously interdispersed, is discharged from the outlet.

Method for the preparation of powder mixtures

A polish including a film forming wax material and an organopolysiloxane elastomer. The elastomer is in the form of particles mixed with the film forming wax. The particles are spherical and have an average diameter of from about 0.3 um to about 30 um. The polish contains at least one additive selected from the group consisting of organic solvents, silicone oils, and surfactants. The film forming wax material may be one of carnauba wax, montan wax, candelilla wax, ceresin wax, paraffin waxes, and beeswax.
