A head unit includes a piezoelectric element displaced according to a driving signal to cause a liquid to be ejected, a driving signal generation unit that generates the driving signal, a residual vibration signal generation circuit that outputs a change in an electromotive force of the piezoelectric element according to residual vibration, in a pressure chamber in communication with a nozzle, that occurs after supply of the driving signal, as a residual vibration signal, an analog differential residual vibration signal generation circuit that converts the residual vibration signal into an analog differential residual vibration signal, a demodulation circuit that demodulates the analog differential residual vibration signal and outputs a demodulated signal, an AD converter that converts the demodulated signal into a digital signal, and a determination unit that determines, based on the digital signal, a state in the pressure chamber.

Head unit and liquid ejection apparatus

There is provided a head unit including: a discharge section that includes a piezoelectric element driven by a first driving signal and discharges a liquid; a switching circuit that switches whether or not to supply the first driving signal; a first substrate that propagates the first driving signal and the discharge control signal to the switching circuit; a second substrate to which the first driving signal and the discharge control signal are supplied and which propagates the first driving signal and the discharge control signal to the first substrate; a first coupling member including a first conductive section that electrically couples the first substrate and the second substrate; and a second coupling member including a second conductive section that electrically couples the first substrate and the second substrate, in which a cross-sectional area of the first conductive section is larger than a cross-sectional area of the second conductive section.

Head unit and liquid discharge apparatus

A liquid ejecting apparatus includes a liquid ejecting head, a first drive signal, a second drive signal output circuit, a third drive signal output circuit that outputs a third drive signal, having a smaller voltage amplitude than voltage amplitudes of other drive signals, to drive the liquid ejecting head, and a first conductive component including a first conductive section that electrically couples the liquid ejecting head to the first drive signal output circuit, a second conductive section that electrically couples the liquid ejecting head to the second drive signal output circuit, and a third conductive section that electrically couples the liquid ejecting head to the third drive signal output circuit. The first conductive section is positioned between the second conductive section and the third conductive section.
