A composition and method for stabilizing proanthocyanidin, especially for preventing, for example, its discoloration by oxidative polymerization. The method utilizes (and the composition contains) proanthocyanidin, and an amino acid having a hydroxyl group or a dipeptide containing said amino acid. Also shown is a drink, food, cosmetic or medicament which contains the composition.

Proanthocyanidin-containing composition

The present invention relates to skin aging inhibitors and/or skin quality-improving agents comprising hydroxyproline, its N-acyl derivatives or salts thereof, and cosmetic compositions for inhibiting skin aging and/or improving skin quality comprising said skin aging inhibitors and/or skin quality-improving agents.

Proanthocyanidin-containing compositions with excellent proanthocyanidin stability, as well as drinks, foods, cosmetics and medicaments containing these compositions, are provided by admixing a vitamin B derivative or its salt in proanthocyanidin. Also shown is a method for stabilizing proanthocyanidin to prevent its color change, etc. caused by oxidative polymerization and the like.
