A composition comprising selectively hydrogenated block copolymers (a) and (b having peak molecular weights of 150-1,000 kg/mol, 6-60 kg/mol, respectively, is disclosed. Component (a) comprises one or more structures A-B-A, (A-B-A)nX, A-(B-A)n, and (A-B)nX. Component (b) comprises one or more structures C-D, D-C-D, and (D-C)nX. The value of 'n' is 1-30, and “X” is a residue of a coupling agent. Before hydrogenation, blocks A and C, are vinyl aromatic polymer blocks; and blocks B and D are polymer blocks comprising 60-100 mol % of one or more conjugated dienes and 0-40 mol % of a vinyl aromatic monomer. The HSBC compositions and TPE blends exhibits good elasticity, good processability, low extractables, and low compression set.

Block copolymer compositions

The disclosure relates to elastomeric compositions having improved soft touch feel to skin, and in particular grip, especially during wet/humid conditions. In one embodiment, the compositions are part of a composite system, wherein the compositions are connected, for example bonded, molded, over-molded or co-extruded to a substrate, such as a thermoplastic, wood, glass or metal. The elastomeric composition comprises: (a) one or more copolymers present in an amount of 10 wt. % to 90 wt. %, selected from styrenic block copolymers and isoprene polymers; (b) one or more resins an amount of 2 wt. % to 20 wt. %; and optionally (c) at least one softener, filler, antioxidant or the like present in an amount up to 80 wt. %. The resin is selected from coumarone-indene resin, petroleum hydrocarbon resin, terpene based polymers, styrene-alpha-methyl-styrene resins, rosin derived resins, and mixtures thereof.

Elastomeric compositions providing improved wet grip

In order to provide a rubber composition having high transparency, toughness and heat-resisting property, the present invention can provide a composition comprising a neodymium-catalyzed isoprene rubber (IR) component; and a rubber polymer (RB) component selected from the group consisting of BR, 1,2-polybutadiene rubber, and SBR, wherein the amount of IR is from about 5 to 95 mass parts with the proviso that the total amount of IR and RB is 100 mass parts, wherein the composition is substantially free of silica, wherein the composition has haze of less than about 20%, and wherein the composition has Type A Durometer hardness (0 sec) of about 30 or more.

Accordingly, the invention provides a process for the preparation of an artificial latex, comprising the steps: (a) emulsification of a cement comprising a rubber dissolved in a suitable organic solvent, together with an aqueous surfactant solution, thus forming an oil-in-water emulsion; (b) step-wise reduction of the solvent content of the oil-in-water emulsion in two or more stages resulting in an artificial latex. In addition, the invention provides a continuous stirred vessel for removing an organic solvent from an oil-in-water emulsion comprising rubber dissolved in an organic solvent.
