The invention relates to method of supporting a unloading conveyor bridge extending substantially horizontally at the bottom level of a bulk material pile storage, implemented as supports in the area of the bridge ends as well as in at least one point therebetween. At least one of the supports is positionally adjusted in the vertical direction. The support force is thereby kept substantially constant at the actual support point. For the adjustment can be used spring loading, fluid pressure loading or gravity loading, for example.

Method of supporting an unloading conveyor bridge

A knife system of a disc chipper, the knife in said system being clamped to its operation position between a wear plate and a press block. The wear plate is supported to the knife disc adjustably for the inclination with respect to the surface of the knife disc. The adjustability is provided by means of a hinge and an adjustment strip. The hinge strip is located adjacent a knife and the adjustment strip is located at the next chip opening. A convergent space is provided for the adjustment strip. The adjustment strip is correspondingly wedge-shaped and has a position adjustable and locking means.

Knife system for a disc chipper

The present invention concerns an apparatus for receiving and feeding into a chipper wood to be chipped, said apparatus containing a feed conveyor receiving log bundles, a tumbling drum breaking the bundles, and a receiving conveyor. The feed conveyor is speed-controlled according to the position information of a log bundle, and the speed of rotation of the tumbling drum is adjusted depending on the amount of wood discharged from the drum. The position information of the log bundle is received for example from the torque moment or input power of the drives of the drum. Thereby the speed of the feed conveyor, respectively the rotation speed of the drum, is set to slow down as a result of the increasing toque moment or input power of the drum, respectively to speed up as a result of the decreasing torque moment or input power.

The invention concerns a method for clamping a knife of a disc chipper, wherein the knife is pressed from the knife disc via knife a clamp against a wear plate in a diagonal position (&#x3b1;) with respect to the plane of the knife disc with a compressive force (N) substantially parallel with the axis of the knife disc. According to the invention, the compensating force of the force directed to the knife clamp, caused by the diagonal position (&#x3b1;) of the knife and transversal to the compressive force (N) is exerted to the wear plate.

Method for clamping a knife in a disc chipper and a knife clamp for a knife assembly

The present invention concerns a method for fixing a knife in wood chipper apparatuses over the whole knife length between two steady surfaces. The fixing force is developed by means of a roller chain located between two counter surfaces and reversing its direction at each of its couplings, the roller chain having stationary end rollers and intermediate rollers at the couplings, the intermediate rollers rolling during the press movement in the longitudinal direction of the chain. An external force is applied to the roller chain, the force changing its direction at the touching points of the rollers, so that the force applied to the roller chain affects to multiple points of the counter surfaces thus forming a prominent total pressing force.

Knife fixing method

The object of the invention is an apparatus for storage of wood chips in a curved-top stockpile the apparatus consisting of a central tower, which supports a conveyor for loading the chips and a beam-like turning pile composer, and a unloading beam supported on ground level on the lower part of the tower as well as on supporting wheels and furnished with unloading devices for transporting the wood chips towards the center of the apparatus. The central tower is furnished at one side with a tubular ex-central opening, and the tower occupies a central tube for delivering the wood chips either upwards or downwards from the opening. The unload drive for the unloading device is positioned inside the tower and the stockpile yard is furnished with a wall at the reach of the unloading device.

The present invention concerns a chipping or crushing apparatus having a prominent speed of rotation and mass inertial moment. The main parts of the apparatus include a chipping disc or a rotor, a short circuit motor and a frequency converter connected to the circuit of the motor. From the chipping disc, respectively from the rotor or from the motor there is arranged a data connection of the speed of rotation to the frequency converter, and the frequency converter has been arranged to control the frequency of the motor current by means of said data so, that in a situation of peak load, when the motor load (torque M) has reached the nominal load, the frequency converter keeps the motor load at the nominal load by decreasing the frequency of the motor current. Thereby kinetic energy of the rotating components will be released for use in the peak loads corresponding to the decrease of the speed of rotation.

The present invention concerns a method and an apparatus for defrosting frozen wood prior to debarking. The defrosting method of logs of the invention is based on bringing heat zone-specifically to logs in transfer motion on a conveyor according to their heat receiving capacity immediately from the moment of starting of the defrosting, and at the end of the defrosting process, the heat volume per time unit, supplied at a higher temperature, is only a part of the heat volume of the starting phase of the defrosting process. For instance, it is possible to spray water on the wood to be defrosted so that the row interval of the showers in the initial part of the piping is a fraction of the row Interval in the tail end of the piping. In the tall end of the defrosting conveyor steam can also be supplied.

Method of chipping of wood and a disc chipper

Methods are disclosed for removing the bark from logs including transporting the logs in a longitudinal direction, cutting the surface of the logs as they move in the longitudinal direction using blades projecting upwardly with respect to a bottom surface on which the logs are supported and which is moving transversely under the logs, and simultaneously causing the logs to move so that the logs alternately contact the blades and are displaced from contact with the blades. Apparatus for removing the bark from logs is also disclosed.
