A swirler assembly for a combustor includes at least one swirler including a plurality of swirl vanes arrayed about an axis of the swirler. The plurality of swirl vanes includes a first ring of first sub-vanes and a second ring of second sub-vanes, the first ring of first sub-vanes and the second ring of second sub-vanes being separated by a gap therebetween.

An epicyclic gearbox is configured to transfer rotational motion between a first rotating component and a second rotating component of the gas turbine engine. The gearbox includes a centrally located sun gear, two or more planet gears circumscribing the sun gear, and a ring gear circumscribing the plurality of planet gears. The gearbox is configured such that the sun gear is drivingly coupled to the first rotating component, such that rotation of the sun gear causes rotation of each planet gear, and such that the ring gear rotates relative to the plurality of planet gears. The gearbox includes one or more shape memory alloy dampers provided in association with the sun gear, the ring gear, and/or the plurality of planet gears. The shape memory alloy damper(s) is configured in order to reduce vibrations transferred through the epicyclic gearbox to the frame, the first rotating component, and/or the second rotating component.

A dome assembly for a combustor includes: at least one swirler assembly including: at least one swirler including a plurality of swirl vanes arrayed about an axis, the plurality of swirl vanes oriented so as to impart a tangential velocity to air passing through the swirler parallel to the axis; each of the plurality of swirl vanes having a thickness and including a plurality of edges which collectively define a peripheral boundary of the respective swirl vane; wherein at least a selected one of the plurality of swirl vanes includes at least one void passing through the thickness of the selected swirl vane, the void disposed within the peripheral boundary of the selected swirl vane.

A mixing assembly for a combustor, including: a pilot mixer and a pilot fuel nozzle; a main mixer including: a main housing surrounding the pilot mixer; a fuel manifold positioned between the pilot housing and the main housing; a mixer foot extending outward from a forward end of the main housing; a main swirler body surrounding the main housing such that an annular mixing channel is defined between the main housing and the main swirler body, and coupled to the mixer foot; and a main fuel ring in the mixing channel downstream of the mixer foot connected to the main housing by main fuel vanes, at least one of the main fuel ring and the main fuel vanes including fuel injection ports positioned to discharge fuel into a central portion of the mixing channel, wherein the mixer foot extends farther from the main housing than the main fuel ring.

Combustor mixing assembly

A gas turbine engine combustor includes a liner defining at least in part a combustion chamber, a first side exposed to the combustion chamber, a second side opposite the first side, and a dilution hole extending from the second side to the first side. The liner includes an airflow feature on the first side of the liner adjacent to the dilution hole and extending into the combustion chamber to increase a cooling of the liner.
