In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus receives first command or data in accordance with a first management protocol from a first device. The apparatus then translates the first command or data into second command or data in accordance with second management protocol. The apparatus further sends the second command or data to a second device. One of the first device and the second device is a first managed element managing a first host.

The embedded-system device loads a first boot loader from a read only section of a storage device in an initialization process of the embedded-system device. The embedded-system device further generates a first verification code for static code and data stored in a first section of the storage device. The embedded-system device then decrypts, by the first boot loader, an encrypted signature stored in the first section by using the public key to obtain a second verification code. The embedded-system device determines integrity of the static code and data based on the first verification code and the second verification code.

The embedded-system device determines that operation of at least one thread of the one or more threads is abnormal. The embedded-system device retrieves the stored operational states of the one or more threads from the thread state register in response to the determination. The embedded-system device outputs the retrieved operational states.

Techniques of accessing serial console of BMC using host serial port

The embedded-system device receives first command or data through a first serial port of the embedded-system device. The embedded-system device further exposes a second serial port to a host of the embedded-system device such that the host has control over the second serial port and receiving second command or data from the host for outputting at the second serial port. The embedded-system device also redirects the first command or data to the second serial port when the embedded-system device is in a first mode. The system includes a management controller, which may receive, from a computing device via a network under the IPMI RAKP protocol, a credential information including a password. In response, the management controller may generate a hash information based on the password, and send the hash information to the computing device. Since the hash information may be used to crack the password, after a time interval from sending the hash information to the computing device, the management controller may change the password to a new password, in order to maintain the security of the password.
