An apparatus for a base station configured for operation in a C-RAN includes processing circuitry coupled to a memory. To configure the base station for multi-user multiple input multiple output (MU-MIMO) signal processing, the processing circuitry is to decode a plurality of sounding reference signals received from a corresponding plurality of UEs via a corresponding plurality of channels. The plurality of channels are estimated based on the plurality of sounding reference signals. A beamforming matrix is determined based on a channel matrix corresponding to the plurality of channels. Beamforming is performed on a plurality of uplink (UL) data streams received from the plurality of UEs, to generate a plurality of beamformed streams. The beamforming is based on the beamforming matrix. Interference suppression is performed on the plurality of beamformed streams to generate a plurality of output data streams. The interference suppression is based on non-orthogonal DMRSs received from the UEs.

Uplink multi-user multiple-input-multiple-output (MU-MIMO) configurations

Various embodiments herein provide techniques for minimum mean-square error interference rejection combining (MMSE-IRC) processing of a received signal, distributed between a baseband unit (BBU) and a remote radio unit (RRU). The RRU may perform uplink receive beamforming (e.g., using maximum ratio combining (MRC)) based on multiple channel measurements (e.g., a set of multiple sounding reference signal (SRS) channel measurements) obtained on respective measurement signals transmitted by a user equipment (UE). The RRU may send the processed signal to the BBU for further processing. The BBU may perform MMSE-IRC based on the processed signal received from the RRU, e.g., using demodulation reference signals (DM-RSs). Other embodiments may be described and claimed.

Uplink receive beamforming for high mobility user in networks with cloud radio access network (C-RAN) architecture

Devices and methods provide for transmitting downlink (DL) positioning reference signals (PRSs) in a wireless system. A DL PRS resource pool is configured and divided into a plurality of DL PRS resource sets. The DL PRS resource pool includes a periodically repeated amount of resources dedicated for DL PRS transmission by a plurality of gNBs in the wireless communication system. The plurality of DL PRS resource sets correspond to one or more gNB of the plurality of the gNBs. The DL PRSs are encoded for transmission on configured DL PRS resources within the plurality of DL PRS resource sets.

Radio (NR) downlink (DL) positioning reference signal (PRS) design resource allocation and mapping in NR positioning

Methods, systems, and storage media are described for new radio downlink positioning reference signal (NR DL PRS) resource allocation and configuration. In particular, some embodiments relate to some embodiments relate to NR DL PRS resource configurations such as comb size, number of symbols, DL PRS resource time configuration (e.g., initial start time and periodicity), and providing formulas for calculation of seed for DL PRS sequence generation. Downlink (DL) positioning reference signal (PRS) resource configuration and measurement in new radio (NR) systems

Some embodiments of this disclosure are directed to apparatuses and method for establishing signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), useful signal power level (Es) and artificial noise power level (Noc) values for new radio (NR) performance requirements. The apparatuses and methods can include processing a received signal including the Es and Noc and determining a baseband signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) degradation based on the signal power level, the artificial noise power level, and the radio-frequency noise power level. The apparatuses and methods can then determine a compensated SNR degradation, as a performance requirement, based on the baseband SNR degradation and the radio-frequency noise power level.

Methods for SNR, Es and Noc setup for NR performance requirements

Embodiments of a user equipment (UE) configured for NR V2X sidelink selection and reselection are generally described herein. In some embodiments, a selected set of candidate resources are scheduled using a single sidelink control information (SCI) within a scheduling window. In some embodiments, sidelink resources are excluded based on a HARQ round trip time. In some embodiments, sidelink control signalling supports the reservation and indication of multiple sidelink resources.
