A seating arrangement in which a modular seat/console that moves between a first space between front seats, an intermediate position, and a second space between rear seats. The seat/console may function as a seat in the second space, or in the intermediate position. In the intermediate position, the seat/console in the seat configuration may advantageously be used to support a child safety seat. The seat/console may also be configured as a console in either the rear seat, intermediate, or front seat positions. The seat/console is provided with an adjustable height support.

Seating arrangement for a vehicle

A center seat console that moves between a forward position between front seats, an intermediate position, and a rear position between rear seats is disclosed. The seat/console may function as a seat in the rear seat position, or in the intermediate position. In the intermediate position, the seat/console in the seat configuration may advantageously be used to support a child safety seat. The seat/console may also be configured as a console in either the rear seat, intermediate, or front seat positions. The seat/console is provided with an adjustable height support that permits the seat/console to be lowered to fit beneath arm rests assembled to the front seats when it is desired to place the console between the front seats.

Modular seat/console for a vehicle

An automotive vehicle seat includes a seat back and a seat bottom. The seat back and seat bottom are carried by bracketry. The seat back is foldable relative to the seat bottom. As the seat back folds toward the seat bottom, the seat bottom moves away from a rear of the bracketry. Once folded, the seat back, seat bottom and bracketry may tumble toward a front of a vehicle.

A vehicle seat assembly is attached to a floor attachment bracket by pivoted front and rear leg assemblies is disclosed. A seat base frame, the floor attachment bracket and the front and rear leg assemblies form a four bar link that support the seat assembly on a floor pan of a vehicle. The floor pan defines a stowage well in which the seat assembly may be selectively stored. The four bar link may be rotated to a limited extent when the seat back frame is in its normal seating position to provide a tip and kneel position. In the tip and kneel position the seat is disposed intermediate the seating position and fully stowed position with the seat back upright to provide improved ingress and egress to areas of the vehicle behind the seat assembly.

A sliding load floor system for use in the rear cargo area of a vehicle. The cargo area has a pair of opposing side portions that extend longitudinally in relation to the center line of the vehicle. A pair of opposing transverse portions extend laterally in relation to the vehicle. A storage area is positioned between and at a level below a plane including the side and transverse portions. The sliding load floor system comprises a slide mechanism including a pair of opposing rail members having a forward edge, and a removable load floor that is detachably positioned in relation to the slide mechanism; and a hinge assembly that is mounted to the side portions. The forward edges of the rail members are connected to the hinge assembly so that the slide mechanism, and the removable load floor may be moved arcuately in relation to the hinge assembly, and the load floor slid rearwardly. Also included is a levitation mechanism for raising a rear edge of the sliding load floor so that the load floor may be extended rearwardly outside the vehicle across a raised sill in the cargo area.

An anti-pinch and electric motor protection device includes a positive temperature coefficient circuit protector having a predetermined temperature threshold and is adapted to be in electrical series with a DC circuit to allow current flow in a first direction and in a second opposite direction when the positive temperature coefficient circuit protector is below the threshold and to block current flow in either direction when the positive temperature coefficient circuit protector is above the threshold. A diode electrically in parallel with the positive temperature coefficient circuit protector is adapted to block current flow in one of the directions.

Anti-pinch and electrical motor protection device

The invention provides a shoulder belt height adjuster assembly and a method of adjusting the same. The assembly includes a guide rail, a slide, and a biasing member. The guide rail includes a plurality of fixed rail teeth disposed along at least one longitudinal portion. The slide includes an aperture formed therein for slidably receiving the guide rail along the longitudinal portion. The slide further includes a plurality of fixed slide teeth disposed on an interior slide surface. The biasing member is operably attached to the slide aperture for selectively engaging at least one of the fixed slide teeth into at least one of the fixed rail teeth. The engagement prevents slidable movement of the slide relative to the guide rail in a downward direction. The method includes selectively preventing sliding movement of a slide relative to a guide rail, sliding the slide in an upward direction by applying an upward force, and sliding the slide in a downward direction by applying a pressing force and a downward force.
