The current application discloses a composition that comprises at least one peptide with a sequence length of 6-12 amino acids, where 2-5 of those amino acids are cysteines for the treatment and cosmetics of animal hair, in preference human hair. There are several hair styling methods that involve breakage and reestablishment of disulfide bonds, allowing relaxation and straightening of the hair. However, the most effective methods currently used to modulate hair contain harmful chemicals. Thus, there is a constant demand for formulations that efficiently model the hair fiber without damage. Thus, the present invention aims to provide a composition for treatment of the hair, including animal and human hair, without the use of chemicals harmful to the hair fiber and consumer health and uses of said compositions in shampoo, lotion, serum, cream, conditioner, foam, elixir, oil, aerosol or mask.

Peptide composition and respective uses

A composition comprising an odorant-binding protein for use in applications, e.g., cosmetic applications, such as for skin or hair care is described. A composition comprising an odorant-binding protein and an active agent, wherein the active agent is released when in presence of an electrolyte solution is described. A kit and an article comprising the composition comprising an odorant-binding protein are also encompassed.

The present invention is the use of conjugated peptide sequences for inclusion in liposomal membranes. The combination can be done with folic acid or with an antibody of folic acid receptor coupled to N-terminal peptide. The presence of these peptides conjugated to liposomal formulations allows the targeting and subsequent release of therapeutic agents and/or imaging agents to cells expressing folic acid receptor. The developed method combines the ability of liposomes in the transport and release of drugs and the specific expression of folic acid receptor on the surface of cell membranes that allow transmembrane transport mediated by specific liposomes. Thus allows the transport of therapeutic agents and/or imaging agents, which are inside the liposome, either hydrophobic or hydrophilic. The therapeutic agents can be either pharmacological compounds (active agents) or siRNAs (small interference RNA) specific to defined target genes.
