An optical system for transmitting a source image includes a light guide, which defines a light transmission channel, an optical coupling arrangement and an optical decoupling arrangement, the coupling arrangement being designed to couple light emerging from the source image into the light guide arrangement in such a way that the light can propagate in the light guide arrangement by total reflection, and the decoupling arrangement being designed to decouple light that has propagated in the light guide arrangement from the light guide arrangement. The light guide arrangement comprises an optical deflection device, which, as viewed in the direction of propagation of the light in the light guide arrangement, is arranged between the coupling arrangement and the decoupling arrangement and is designed to deflect light ray bundles, emerging from the coupling arrangement at different beam angles and impinging divergently on the deflection device, in bundled manner towards the decoupling arrangement.

Optical system for transmitting a source image

An arrangement for microscopy, having an illumination optical unit with an illumination objective for illuminating a specimen on a specimen carrier. An optical axis of the illumination objective lies in a plane which includes an illumination angle that differs from zero with the normal of a specimen plane and the illumination is implemented in the plane. A detection optical unit with a detection objective is located in a detection beam path. The optical axis of the detection objective includes a detection angle that differs from zero with the normal of the specimen plane. The illumination objective and/or the detection objective has an illumination correction element. A meniscus lens is located between the specimen carrier and the illumination and detection objectives being arranged both in the illumination beam path and in the detection beam path.

Arrangement for microscopy and for correction of aberrations

An optical system for transmitting a source image is provided. Light having a field angle spectrum emanates from the source image. The optical system includes an optical waveguide arrangement, in which light can propagate by total internal reflection. The optical system also includes a diffractive optical input coupling arrangement for coupling the light emanating from the source image into the optical waveguide arrangement. The optical system further includes a diffractive optical output coupling arrangement for coupling the light that has propagated in the optical waveguide arrangement out from the optical waveguide arrangement. The disclosure also provides related methods.

Optical system and method for transmitting a source image

A laser scanning microscope having a laser source for fluorescence excitation; a scanning mirror arrangement for scanning a specimen and scanning optics for generating a diffraction-limited reference image plane as a first intermediate image plane; an optical system for demagnified imaging of the reference plane in a second intermediate image plane; an axially slideable mirror in the second intermediate image plane; a beam splitter arrangement between the reference image plane and the optical system; and a tube lens and a first microscope objective for imaging of the reference image plane into a specimen. The imaging of the image is effected with a magnification of M&#x2260;n/n' and/or a magnification of the second intermediate image plane into the specimen according to the equation with |&#x3be;|&#x2260;, and/or the focal plane of the laser deviates from the axial position of the axially movable mirror across its scanning area in the second intermediate image plane.

Laser scanning microscope

An apparatus for imaging a sample arranged in a first medium in an object plane. The apparatus includes an optical transmission system which images the sample in the object plane in an intermediate image in an intermediate image plane. The object plane and the intermediate image plane form an angle not equal to 90&#xb0; with an optical axis of the transmission system. The apparatus further comprises an optical imaging system having an objective. The object plane may be imaged on a detector without distortion. The optical transmission system is symmetrical with respect to a pupil plane, the object plane, and the intermediate image plane to satisfy the Scheimpflug condition. The intermediate image lies in a second medium having a refractive index virtually identical to that of the first medium. A lens group of a subsystem arranged closest to the sample or intermediate image comprises at least one catadioptric assembly.

Device for imaging sample

An optical transmission system configured to image a selected region of a sample arranged in a first medium in an object plane on or in a sample carrier, which includes plane-parallel plate, from the object plane into an intermediate image plane in a second medium. The plane-parallel plate is located between the optical transmission system and the sample during the imaging. The object plane and the intermediate image plane form an angle between 0&#xb0; and 90&#xb0; with an optical axis of the transmission system. The optical transmission system is positioned relative to region of the sample such that the sample is located within the focal length of the lens of the optical transmission system closest to the sample. The intermediate image plane and the object plane are located on the same side of the optical transmission system, and the intermediate image is a virtual image.

Optical transmission system for correcting image errors and microscope with such a transmission system

An arrangement for light sheet microscopy including illumination optics with an illumination objective for illuminating a sample, located in a medium on a sample carrier aligned with respect to a plane reference surface, with a light sheet. The arrangement also includes detection optics with a detection objective. The arrangement further includes a separating layer system with at least one layer separating the medium from the illumination and detection objectives. The separating layer system contacts the medium by a base surface aligned parallel to the reference surface. A correction lens system, with at least one correction lens serving to reduce those aberrations which occur as a result of the oblique passage of illumination light and/or of light to be detected through interfaces of the separating layer system, is arranged between illumination objective and separating layer system and/or between detection objective and separating layer system.

Arrangement for light sheet microscopy

An arrangement for the illumination of a field which uses, as a combined light source, three groups of LEDs which emit light bundles in different colors (R, G, B). The light bundles&#x2014;considered in the direction of light propagation&#x2014;pass collector optics, a device for combining the light bundles, and in-coupling optics. There are three light sources, each comprising a matrix of red LEDs, green LEDs, or blue LEDs, the light-emitting surface of each LED matrix being coupled with a light inlet face of a concentrator, each concentrator opening in a funnel-shaped manner in the light propagation direction. The collector optics and in-coupling optics are dimensioned in such a way that the surface shape of every light-emitting surface of the concentrators is transmitted to a light inlet face of the light mixing rod in such a way that they are congruently superimposed on one another.
