Disclosed is a recording sheet which comprises (a) a substrate comprising a first paper ply, a second paper ply, and, situated between the first and second plies, a hydrophobic adhesive layer; (b) an image receiving coating situated on at least one surface of the substrate, said image receiving coating being suitable for receiving images of an aqueous ink and suitable for receiving images of an electrostatic toner composition, said coating comprising (1) a polymeric binder, (2) a dye fixative, and (3) an optional pigment.

Multifunctional recording sheets

A transparency comprised of a supporting substrate, and thereover two coatings, a first coating layer which comprises a binder having a melting point of 100.degree. to 275.degree. C. and a heat dissipating and a fire retardant component, a second dye immobilizing light resistant, water resistant ink receiving coating layer situated so that the first coating layer is between the second dye immobilizing light resistant, water resistant ink receiving coating layer, and the substrate, said second dye immobilizing light resistant, water resistant coating layer comprising a blend of a hydrophilic polymer, an ink spreading agent, cationic component monomeric or polymeric capable of complexing with the ink dyes used to develop the transparency, a lightfastness inducing agent, and/or mixtures thereof, a filler and a biocide, and preferably wherein the two coatings are present on each surface of the supporting substrate.

Overcoated migration imaging members

A transparency comprised of a supporting substrate, thereover a first coating layer comprised of an ink absorbing layer and a biocide; and a second ink spreading coating layer comprised of a hydrophilic vinyl binder, a dye mordant, a filler, an optional lightfastness inducing agent, and an ink spot size increasing agent selected from the group consisting of hydroxy acids, amino acids and polycarboxyl compounds; and wherein the first coating is in contact with the substrate and is situated between the substrate and the second ink coating, and which transparency possesses a haze value of from about 0.5 to about 10 and a lightfastness value of from about 95 to about 98.

Disclosed is a migration imaging member comprising a substrate and a softenable layer, said softenable layer comprising a softenable material, a pigment predominantly sensitive to infrared or red light radiation, and a migration marking material predominantly sensitive radiation at a wavelength other than that to which the infrared or red light radiation sensitive pigment is sensitive contained at least at or near the surface of the softenable layer spaced from the substrate.

Migration imaging members

Disclosed is a migration imaging member comprising a substrate, a first softenable layer comprising a first softenable material and a first migration marking material contained at or near the surface of the first softenable layer spaced from the substrate, and a second softenable layer comprising a second softenable material and a second migration marking material. Also disclosed is a migration imaging process employing the aforesaid imaging member.

A paper comprised of a supporting substrate with a coating comprised of a desizing component and a hydrophilic polymer, and more specifically in an embodiment the paper is comprised of a paper comprised of a supporting substrate treated with desizing agents selected from the group consisting of (1) hydrophilic poly(dialkylsiloxanes); (2) poly(alkylene glycol); (3) poly(propylene oxide)-poly(ethylene oxide) copolymers; (4) fatty ester modified compounds of phosphate, sorbitan, glycerol, poly(ethylene glycol), sulfosuccinic acid, sulfonic acid and alkyl amine; (5) poly(oxyalkylene) modified compounds of sorbitan esters, fatty amines, alkanol amides, castor oil, fatty acids and fatty alcohols; (6) quaternary alkosulfate compounds; (7) fatty imidazolines; and mixtures thereof.

Treated papers

Disclosed is a recording sheet which comprises a base sheet, an antistatic layer coated on at least one surface of the base sheet comprising a mixture of a first component selected from the group consisting of hydrophilic polysaccharides and a second component selected from the group consisting of poly (vinyl amines), poly (vinyl phosphates), poly (vinyl alcohols), poly (vinyl alcohol)-ethoxylated, poly (ethylene imine)ethoxylated, poly (ethylene oxides), poly (n-vinyl acetamide-vinyl sulfonate salts), melamine-formaldehyde resins, urea-formaldehyde resins, styrene-vinylpyrrolidone copolymers, and mixtures thereof, and at least one toner receiving layer coated on an antistatic layer comprising a material selected from the group consisting of maleic anhydride containing polymers, maleic ester containing polymers, and mixtures thereof.

Coated recording sheets for electrostatic printing processes

Disclosed is a recording sheet which comprises a substrate; a first coating in contact with the substrate which comprises a crosslinking agent selected from the group consisting of hexamethoxymethyl melamine, methylated melamine-formaldehyde, methylated urea-formaldehyde, cationic urea-formaldehyde, cationic polyamine-epichlorohydrin, glyoxal-urea resin, poly (aziridine), poly (acrylamide), poly (N,N-dimethyl acrylamide), acrylamide-acrylic acid copolymer, poly (2-acrylamido-2-methyl propane sulfonic acid), poly (N,N-dimethyl-3,5-dimethylene piperidinium chloride), poly (methylene-guanidine) hydrochloride, poly (ethylene imine) poly (ethylene imine) epichlorohydrin, poly (ethylene imine) ethoxylated, glutaraldehyde, and mixtures thereof; a catalyst; and a polymeric material capable of being crosslinked by the crosslinking agent and selected from the group consisting of polysaccharides having at least one hydroxy group, polysaccharides having at least one carboxy group, polysaccharides having at least one sulfate group, polysaccharides having at least one amine or amino group, polysaccharide gums, poly (alkylene oxides), vinyl polymers, and mixtures thereof; and a second coating in contact with the first coating which comprises a binder and a material selected from the group consisting of fatty imidazolines, ethosulfate quaternary compounds, dialkyl dimethyl methosulfate quaternary compounds, alkoxylated di-fatty quaternary compounds, amine oxides, amine ethoxylates, Imidazoline quaternary compounds, alkyl benzyl dimethyl quaternary compounds, poly (epiamines), and mixtures thereof.

Transparencies

A twin ply uncoated paper for ink jet processes comprised of a supporting paper substrate sheet as a first ply, and thereover as a second ply a paper sheet with filler additives attached to the fibers thereof, which additives are, for example, selected from the group consisting of amorphous synthetic silicas, inorganic silicates, metal alumino-silicates, and inorganic oxides. Three ply papers are also illustrated wherein there is situated between two second plies a supporting substrate sheet.
