Various embodiments of a system and method for replicating a file over multiple data centers are described. The method may comprise creating a plurality of file records in a database at a data center that initially receives the file. Each record may correspond to a destination data center at which the file should be stored. The file records may be replicated to respective databases at each of the destination data centers, and each respective destination data center may pull a copy of the file to the respective destination data center. When a file is pulled to a given destination data center, the file record corresponding to the copy of the file at the given destination data center may be updated, and the updated file record may be communicated to the other destination data centers.

The present invention provides a semi-enclosed applicator for distributing a substance onto a target surface. The applicator has a first side, a second side, and an internal cavity between the first and second sides. The applicator further includes at least one opening, such that the internal cavity is externally accessible, and the applicator further comprises: (a) a material comprising absorbent and substantially non-absorbent fibers on one of the first and second sides; (b) an absorbent core on the other of the first and second sides; and (c) a substantially fluid-impervious barrier layer within the internal cavity adjacent the absorbent core. The applicator includes at least one opening, such that the internal cavity is externally accessible, and the applicator further comprises: (a) a substantially fluid-impervious barrier layer within the internal cavity adjacent one of the sides; and (b) a rupturable fluid-containing reservoir located between the barrier layer and the side.

Premoistened wipes for treating and/or cleaning a surface comprise the multi-layer substrate and a liquid composition impregnated into the multi-layer substrate, wherein the liquid composition comprises a surfactant system and/or a solvent system. Methods of treating and/or cleaning a surface comprise the step of contacting the surface with a premoistened wipe of the present invention.

Wet-like cleaning wipes and similar articles that are particularly useful in removing perianal soils. These wipes comprise a carrier substrate such as tissue paper web and a emulsion applied to the substrate, wherein the emulsion comprises a continuous external lipid phase and a dispersed internal polar phase (e.g., water). The continuous external lipid phase of this emulsion is sufficiently brittle that it ruptures when subjected to low shear during use to release the dispersed internal polar phase.

A lotion composition for imparting a soft, lubricious, lotion-like feel when applied to tissue paper in amounts as low as from about 5 to about 15% by weight. The lotion composition comprises plastic or fluid emollient such as petrolatum, or a mixture of petrolatum with alkyl ethoxylate emollient, an agent such as sorbitan stearates or N-cocoyl, N-methyl glucamide to immobilize the emollient on the surface of the tissue paper web and optionally a hydrophilic surfactant to improve wettability when applied to toilet tissue. Because less lotion is required to impart the desired soft, lotion-like feel benefits, detrimental effects on the tensile strength and caliper of the lotioned paper are minimized or avoided.
