An improved locking assembly is disclosed for securing the connection between a push-on fitting having a flared end which is fitted into a cage and surrounded by a garter-type coil spring housed within the cage. The locking assembly includes a generally cylindrical coupling having a knurled outer surface and a single radial slit therein. The coupling includes at least two hinges integrally formed in the outer circumference thereof wherein at least three independent bearing surfaces are formed when the coupling encircles the connection. A multi-step circumferential recess within the coupling is utilized to accommodate variations in the external dimensions of the cage and a circular clamp or single screw are utilized to urge the single radial slit into a mated relationship such that relative axial movement of the cage and push-on fitting is restricted by radial pressure exerted by the coupling. In one embodiment of the present invention, multiple sized connections are accommodated by inserting within the coupling a cylindrical insert having a single radial slit and at least two hinges formed therein which correspond to the single radial slit and at least two hinges within the coupling, so that smaller connections may be accommodated.

A diesel engine fuel system of the type which includes a fuel heater upstream of a filter in the fuel feed line from the tank to the engine injector and wherein a diverter line is connected at one end in the engine-to-tank return line and at its other end to the feed line downstream of the filter. A valve controls flow in the diverter line and is adapted to permit flow therein while substantially stopping return flow to the tank only when the heater is operating. The result is a dramatic improvement in heater efficacy.

A fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines is provided with an engine speed responsive governor having a governor arm suspension system that includes a spherical pivot fulcrum and a complimentary concave pivot surface on the governor arm to permit multi-directional articulation of the arm thereby preventing the slidable governor sleeve from binding on the drive shaft of the pump driven by the engine.

A mill comprising a case with a longitudinal flow passage; an annular milling ring with a plurality of circumferentially spaced radially inwardly projecting teeth fixed in the flow passage; a substantially disc-shaped rotor arranged centrally within the ring in free running clearance with the teeth, a prime mover to rotate the rotor; said rotor has a plurality of circumferentially spaced, straight, radially outwardly opening guideways; a plurality of milling blocks with elongate shanks slidably engaged in the guideways and milling heads normally projecting radially from the rotor into close running clearance with the teeth and movable radially inwardly relative to the teeth; and stop means to limit radial outward shifting and allow for free radial inward shifting of the blocks relative to the rotor.

Mill

An autocycling control circuit unit is provided for controlling heating and/or airconditioning systems to provide controlled comfort and fuel savings. The unit contains a night thermostat which is continually coupled to the system for maintaining a minimum temperature level. A programmable timer enables and disables a day thermostat during settable, predetermined time intervals. The timer includes a feedback circuit for varying the on-off cycling of the day thermostat, after initial warm-up, in accordance with the rate at which the day thermostat calls for heat. The unit contains a backup battery and charger to insure the proper timing sequence in the event of system power outages.

Autocycling control circuit for heating and/or air conditioning systems

A power hand tool including a manually engageable housing, a prime mover within the housing, a tool bit engaging chuck projecting from the housing, power transmission means within the housing and between the prime mover and the chuck; said power transmission is operable to selectively drive the chuck rotatively or reciprocally. The chuck is driven rotatively by a tube driven by the transmission and coupled with the chuck for free relative axial movement and for relative circumferential drive; the chuck is driven reciprocally by an eccentric drive means connected with the transmission and coupled with the chuck for free relative rotation and for reciprocal axial drive.

Electric hand tool

A pump adapted to ingest, reduce and deliver combined fluid and solid materials. The pump includes a centrifugal pumping means with a volute chamber, central inlet opening, a substantially tangential outlet opening and a vaned rotor within the chamber; a milling means at and about said inlet opening and including an elongate milling ring with upstream and downstream ends and elongate circumferentially spaced grooves and teeth about its inner peripheral portion and a milling disc rotatable within the ring and drivingly coupled with said rotor, said disc carrying circumferentially spaced shearing blades overlying the downstream end of the ring and shearing blocks with circumferentially and radially disposed material engaging surfaces within the confines of the ring; and material feed means to reduce and deliver material to the milling means and including a material conducting bore upstream of the milling ring, a lateral material supply duct communicating with the bore and an elongate helical screw in the bore and drivingly coupled with the disc and a prime mover drivingly coupled with one end of that rotary assembly made up of said rotor, disc and screw.

Material reduction means for pumps

Apparatus for use in controlling the firing of heat generators provides output signals having first or second different characteristics during preselected time periods, the times of occurrence and extents of which are readily changeable by variation of the settings of switches. A system includes night and day thermostats selectively connected with a heat generator under control of such apparatus.

Systems and apparatus for control of fueled heat generators

A material handling sling comprising a main elongated, flexible, securing member, fluid inflatable means integral with the main securing member and positioned intermediate the leading and terminal ends thereof. The sling may also include a secondary securing member that is attached to the main securing member at two points intermediate the ends of the inflatable means, one point being inward the end of the inflatable means nearest the leading end of the main securing member and the other point being inward the end of the inflatable means nearest the terminal end of the main securing member; the secondary securing member being adapted to provide a working length spanning the distance between the two points of attachment of the secondary securing member to the main securing member that is shorter than the length of the main securing member between said two points.
