A hardware device architecture is described that improves security and flexibility in access to hardware device settings. A device management proxy service is digitally signed and granted access to device settings. Applications are then digitally provisioned by the proxy service and only validated signed requests from applications are permitted to change hardware device settings. Further granularity over hardware device settings is achieved through user accounts and groups established by the applications.

Device management proxy for secure devices

An apparatus for measuring dimension and weight is provided. In one implementation, the apparatus comprises a dimensioner, a force sensing device, and a portable control module. The dimensioner, which is mounted on headgear or body wear to be worn on the head or body of a user, is configured to determine dimensions of an object. The force sensing device, which is incorporated into footwear to be worn on at least one foot of the user, is configured to measure a force acting on a bottom portion of the footwear. The portable control unit includes a dimension input module configured to receive signals from the dimensioner indicative of the dimensions of the object and further includes a weight input module configured to receive signals from the force sensing device indicative of the weight of the object.

Wearable metrological apparatus

A system for secure network access by unattended devices is described. The system describes how unattended devices that have encrypted data at rest and/or require secure authentication to an open network may procure the access credentials for authentication and/or decryption. With these access credentials, then the unattended devices may exchange information with and/or receive updates from servers on the network.

Secure unattended network authentication

The present disclosure is generally directed to obtaining location information of a person or a machine when the person or machine uses an imaging device to capture an image of one or more objects located in an indoor facility. The location information can be obtained by processing the captured image in conjunction with a reference map and/or a database. The reference map can be generated by using one or more reference images of the various objects in the indoor facility. The database can contain information such as a location, a dimension, and an orientation of each of the various objects in the indoor facility. The location information can also be obtained by processing the captured image to examine encoded data content in a label and/or an imaging distortion present in the label. The labels, which can be barcode labels, are affixed to various object in the indoor facility.

Systems and methods for determining a location of a user when using an imaging device in an indoor facility

This invention provides an extensible method for performing management operations on known and unknown targets. The extensible method is implemented on a fully extensible system where management software and triggers that cause these management operations to be run are easily extended in the field. The triggers may include information indicating a change in inventory, product state, or an event, and may originate directly from a product or from an information store containing information about installed products. The management software facilitates mining this information, parsing the information through a manifest of the triggers, and selecting functions to determine if a management operation should be executed, and if so, which management operation. Generally, the management software executes the selected management operation.
