Disclosed is a method for killing or controlling invertebrates comprising applying a pesticidally-effective amount of a pesticidal composition to invertebrates or to a locus where killing or control of invertebrates is desired, wherein (i) the invertebrates are selected from the group consisting of ants, cockroaches, spiders, fleas, ticks, earwigs, pillbugs, beetles, flies, crickets, mosquitoes, and wasps, and (ii) the pesticidal composition is unscented and comprises an inert carrier and a pesticidally active ingredient consisting of benzyl alcohol and phenethyl propionate.

In addition, the present invention is directed to a method for controlling pests by applying a pesticidally-effective amount of the pesticidal compositions to a locus where pest control is desired.

A method for controlling insects and arachnids using a composition which is non-toxic to humans. The composition may be a dust, an aerosol or a solvent solution of at least one neurally effective substance. A hazard-free method for controlling insects using a non-toxic composition that kills by dehydration. The invention includes a process for making the composition in the form of crystalline particles which penetrate directly through the exoskeleton of an insect. In operation, the particles work themselves between the insect's protective body plates and then pierce the exoskeleton. Once inside, the particles absorb up to four times their weight of the vital body fluids of the insect. The penetration of the body plates and exoskeleton and/or dehydration ultimately results in death of the insect.
