A power tool including a shroud for restricting the path of debris generated by a rotatable cutting disc and defining a shroud outlet opening through which the debris can be sucked by a vacuum device. The debris enters a sub-volume along a first axis and exits the sub-volume along a second axis in a different plane. A conduit having a curved wall defines the sub-volume such that debris travelling therethough undergoes a change in direction and exits the sub-volume along a direction substantially parallel with the second axis.

Power tool debris management

A collar system for a dust extractor is provided including: a collar including a drill passage extending through the collar and an extension forming an internal passage that connects at one end with the drill passage, the extension being attachable to a housing of the dust extractor to enable the internal passage to connect to a suction passage of the dust extractor; and a cover mounted adjacent an entrance of the drill passage, the cover being moveable between a first position where it covers the entrance and a second position where is remote from the entrance, wherein the cover comprises at least hole that passes through the cover.

Collar system for a dust extractor

A docking station for a dust collection box comprising: a housing; a socket formed by the housing configured to receive a dust collection box of a dust extractor; first and second apertures formed through a wall of the housing which aligns with air outlet and inlet apertures of a dust collection box when the dust collection box is mounted within the socket; a connector connectable to a vacuum source; and a dust channel mounted inside of the housing, which provides a passageway between the second aperture and the connector. The docking station may further include an air vent formed through a wall of the housing to allow air surrounding the housing to enter a cavity formed inside of the housing, where the first aperture is connected to the cavity in the housing to allow air in the cavity to exit the housing through the first aperture.

Docking station

A power tool includes a rotatable support arrangement for supporting at least one cutting disc. An upper shroud member and a lower shroud member cooperate to define a volume in which the at least one cutting disc can be supported. The rotatable support arrangement can be coupled to the upper shroud member such that movement of the upper shroud member towards the lower shroud member causes the cutting disc to protrude through an opening in the lower shroud member. A biasing member urges the upper shroud member and the lower shroud member away from each other. A limiting mechanism limits the range of movement of the upper shroud member relative to the lower shroud member under action of the biasing member. The limiting mechanism can be disengaged by opening the upper shroud member via at least one hinge coupling.

Replacement of rotatable cutting discs of a power tool

An adaptor for a dust extractor is provided including a housing having a top portion and a bottom portion, a first aperture formed in the top portion of the housing, a second aperture formed in the bottom portion of the housing, and an adaptor catch having a first end and a second end. The adaptor catch is vertically slidable within the housing between a first catch position, where the first end projects through the first aperture, and a second catch position, where the first end is located flush with or inside of the housing. The second end of the adaptor catch is accessible through the second aperture. A first biasing mechanism biases the adaptor catch towards the second catch position.

Dust extractor

A dust extractor is provided including a main housing, a telescopic tubular extension arm comprising a first forward section slidable into or out of a second rear section over a stroke length between a first inner position and a second outer position, the second rear section being mounted onto the main housing, a shroud mounted on one end of the first forward section remote from the second rear section, a biasing force arranged to urge the first forward section to slide out of the second rear section towards the second outer position, and a dust collection box mounted on the main housing. The stroke length of the telescopic extension arm is greater than 150 mm.

A dust extractor for a drill includes a housing having an engagement region for receiving the drill when connected to the dust extractor; and a latch mechanism. The latch mechanism includes a latch moveably mounted within the housing and moveable between a first position and a second position, a biasing mechanism biasing the latch towards the first position, and a catch attached to the latch. The catch has a chamfer which is arranged so that the chamfer slidingly engages the drill and moves the latch from its first position towards its second position when the drill enters the engagement region.
