A life support system for field use or use on a vehicle has a plurality of separate electrically operable life support units and a support structure supporting same. The support structure carries a DC power supply, and each life support unit is adapted to receive power both from the DC power supply and the vehicle power supply.

Portable life support system

A baffle apparatus for a large format camera to prevent non-imaging light coming from the object source and traversing the camera lens from reaching the image plane. A movable opaque baffle is disposed between the camera lens and the image plane. The object source location with respect to the lens and the required position of the opaque baffle are automatically controlled by means of cams driven by a common power source.

Large format camera light baffle apparatus

A virtual image display device for alpha-numeric and pictorial information. A concave spherical mirror segment magnifies and reflects an image from an image source. The image source is mounted between the focus of the mirror and the said mirror and parallel to its optical axis. The virtual image thereby formed is visible to the viewer in front of the mirror. In related embodiments, the concave mirror segment can be made partially reflective and placed in front of a camera lens to allow a camera to photograph through it. A planar mirror can also be included to fold the light path of the display and thereby reduce the size of the apparatus.
