A magnetic resonance apparatus has a gradient coil system which has at least one flexible and thermally conductive damping structure that contains a flexible matrix and thermally conductive, particulate fillers. At least parts of a cooling device of the gradient coil system are arranged within the damping structure.

Magnetic resonance apparatus having a mechanically damped gradient coil system

Gradient coil for magnetic resonance (MR) devices has direct cooling by means of cooling lines that are embedded in the coil and through which a cooling agent flows. The cooling lines are arranged substantially parallel to one another, such as parallel to the axis of the gradient coil, and are combined to form heat exchanger modules whose individual cooling lines are coupled with one another so that the maximum length between the inlet and outlet of a module corresponds to twice the longitudinal length of the gradient coil.

Gradient coil with direct cooling

A method for determining sources of interference that cause partial discharges in an encapsulated conductor structure of a magnetic resonance apparatus, particularly in a gradient coil. Under the method, a low-frequency high voltage is applied to a conductor, and signals resulting from an adjacent high voltage are measured within a frequency range located in the kHz range, particularly from 40 to 400 kHz. The signals are analyzed in order to determine partial discharges. The conductor is again charged with a low-frequency high voltage and additional signals are measured within a frequency range located in the MHz range, particularly from 10 to 300 MHz. The additional signals are analyzed in order to determine partial discharges.

Method for determining sources of interference

A gradient coil assembly for an NMR tomography apparatus has at least one gradient coil and at least one cooling structure, the cooling structure including at least one flexible cooling conduit for a cooling medium, this conduit being arranged on a flexible carrier. In a method for producing such a gradient coil assembly, a gradient coil and a cooling structure are flexibly attached to a flexible carrier, with the cooling structure being in thermally conducting contact with the gradient coil.

In a method for noise reduction in the operation of a gradient coil of a magnetic resonance apparatus, at least a portion of the gradient coil is in contact with a reaction resin molding material. During operation of the gradient coil the reaction resin molding material is maintained at a temperature that is in the region of the glass transition temperature of the reaction resin molding material.
