A system and method for facilitating physical therapy that may include a wearable display, wearable sensors disposed at varying positions on a user, a processor comprising executable instructions configured to provide a virtual reality environment, virtual characters, and therapeutic activities on the wearable display, wherein the virtual characters interact with the user to provide at least form feedback and positive reinforcement. A new instance of the virtual reality environment, with identifiable differences, may be generated in response to a measured completion or partial completion of a therapeutic activity. Changes in the virtual reality environment may offer users continued indications of progression throughout the duration of a physical therapy program. The system may include a connectable device comprising a display that duplicates a portion of the wearable displays image, enables interaction within the virtual reality environment, and allows for the selection and modification of therapeutic activities.

Systems and methods for physical therapy

Systems and methods are provided for measuring and identifying real-world tremors in order to calculate and display an anti-tremor in a virtual reality world. A system may identify a tremor in a body part, such as hands, and measure the tremor movement from, e.g., body sensors, to calculate an opposite movement and animate virtual hands performing the reverse tremor motion. Depicting inverse motions, such as an anti-tremor, may be used in a few ways to therapeutically train and exercise patients to better control their tremors. Providing a visual cue may help a patient interrupt the movement, as well as provide possibilities for therapy or training muscle memory and stimulating nerve and neuron recovery. By displaying an anti-tremor with virtual hands, a VR system may be used to help train or exercise body parts experiencing tremors.

Doxorubicin is extracted from blood using anionic material, such as a resin comprising sulfonated polystyrene divinylbenzene beads, and polyethersulfone membrane, or both. After exposing the resin and/or membrane to blood in order to remove doxorubicin therefrom, the doxorubicin maybe extracted from the resin and/or membrane by exposing the material to an extraction solution, sonicating the extraction solution to enhance release of the doxorubicin, and repeating the exposure and sonication in order to remove substantially all of doxorubicin from the resin.
