An apparatus includes a first enclosure configured to be mounted on a first wall of a bus duct and housing at least one circuit protective device and a connector assembly configured to engage an outlet of the bus duct of the first wall of the bus duct. The apparatus further includes a second unit including a second enclosure mounted on the first enclosure and housing at least one metering device and wiring passing between the first and second enclosures.

Bus plug apparatus using multiple interconnected enclosures

A cover assembly for use with a joint between first and second busway sections includes: a lower cover sized and configured to be positioned below the joint; an upper cover sized and configured to be positioned above the joint; and a plurality of elongated fasteners. With the lower and upper covers in position, each fastener is sized and configured to extend through a respective pathway that extends through one of the first and second busway sections and is defined by aligned apertures of the upper cover and fastener receiving features of the lower cover to secure the upper and lower covers to the first and second busway sections.

Busway joint structural support assemblies and related systems

A busway section with an electrically conductive housing is described. The busway section includes a lid connected with the housing through a hinging mechanism. Internal slots are also present, along which bus bars can be located. Possible applications of the busway section are feeder sections and plug-in sections.

Hinged busway

A support assembly is provided for supporting an electrical enclosure with respect to an electrical busway and with respect to a support structure, such as a wall, which is disposed proximate to the electrical busway. The support assembly includes at least one mounting assembly having a plurality of mounting elements. A first one of the mounting elements is coupled to the electrical enclosure. A second different one of the mounting elements is coupled to the support structure. A number of coupling assemblies interconnect the mounting elements. The first one of the mounting elements is movable with respect to the second different one of the mounting elements, in order to enable the electrical enclosure to move with the electrical busway and with respect to the support structure.

Electrical enclosure and support assembly therefor

A retrofit operating handle assembly structured to allow a CM22 type circuit breaker to be operatively coupled to a MG 8 or 9 type circuit breaker tank is provided. The operating handle assembly includes a tank assembly, which is coupled to the MG 8 or 9 type circuit breaker tank, and a circuit breaker, which is coupled to the CM22 type circuit breaker.

Network protector retrofit handle assembly

A coupling assembly is provided for an electrical busway having a first section and a second section. The coupling assembly includes at least one housing having first and second ends. A plurality of electrical conductors extend through such housing and electrically connect the first and second sections of the electrical busway. A plurality of electrical insulators surround at least some of the electrical conductors. A first coupling member couples the first end of the at least one housing to the first section of the electrical busway, and a second coupling member couples the second end of such housing to the second section of the electrical busway. The at least one housing and the electrical conductors extending therethrough are flexible, and the housing is electrically grounded. The coupling assembly electrically connects the first and second sections of the electrical busway, without a number of separate termination boxes.

Electrical busway and coupling assembly therefor

A retrofit assembly structured to allow a CM22 type circuit breaker to engage, and be enclosed by, a CMD type circuit breaker tank is provided. The retrofit assembly includes a levering mechanism, a circuit breaker bus assembly having bus support members, and a door handle system structured to allow a user to actuate the circuit breaker contacts when the tank is closed.

Special provisions for network protector retrofits

The present invention provides busway plug fitting having a housing assembly and a toggle mechanism disposed therein having at least two operatively linked operating handles. A first assembly is disposed on a first side member of the housing assembly and structured to move between a first position and a second position. The second handle assembly is disposed on a second, perpendicular side of the housing assembly and also structured to move between a first position and a second position. The toggle mechanism is coupled to the external coupling construct of the operating device and structured to move between a first position and a second position. The first and second handle assemblies are operatively linked by the toggle mechanism. In this configuration, a user may operate either handle assembly to actuate the operating device disposed with in the busway plug fitting.

A busway fitting wherein the switch and/or fuse are disposed in a horizontal orientation. As the switch assembly and/or fuse are disposed in a horizontal orientation, the buses coupled to the switch assembly and/or fuse also extend horizontally. As such, the buses coupled to the switch assembly and/or fuse occupy a reduced amount of space. In this configuration, the transition buses may extend in a generally horizontal direction and, as such, the size of the busway fitting may be reduced.

A busway fitting bus assembly for a busway fitting, wherein the busway fitting has a housing assembly defining an enclosed space, the housing assembly having a top end, a bottom end, and a sidewall, the sidewall having a side opening, at least one tap bus extending between the side opening and the enclosed space. The busway fitting bus assembly includes a plurality of elongated, main bus members, the main bus members structured to extend the length between the busway fitting housing assembly bottom end and the busway fitting housing assembly top end, and a support assembly having an extruded body structured to enclose and support the plurality of main bus members.

An interface linkage assembly for a network protector is provided. The network protector includes a circuit breaker structured to move in and out of a housing assembly, and having a mechanical trip assembly and an electrical close assembly. The interface linkage includes a coupling device, a housing assembly portion and a rollout portion. The coupling device has a first component and a second component. The housing assembly portion is coupled to the coupling device first component. The rollout portion is coupled to the coupling device second component. The rollout portion is structured to be coupled to the mechanical trip assembly and the electrical close assembly, and further structured to move the mechanical trip assembly over a lesser arc and the electrical close assembly over a greater arc.

Rollout interface linkage for network protectors

A power circuit includes a first low voltage power bus, a second low voltage power bus, a fuse electrically connected between the first low voltage power bus and the second low voltage power bus, and a fuse barrier. The fuse has a non-interrupted state and an interrupted state. The fuse barrier includes a spring having a first end and a second end, a fastener connecting the first end of the spring to one of the first low voltage power bus and the second low voltage power bus, and an insulating barrier. The insulating barrier is disposed from the second end of the spring. The insulating barrier engages a portion of the fuse in the non-interrupted state thereof. The spring drives a portion of the insulating barrier through the fuse in the interrupted state thereof.

A handle assembly for a network protector where the network protector includes a circuit breaker and a housing assembly, the circuit breaker having a trip bar structured to move between a first position and a second position corresponding to an open and closed position of the circuit breaker, respectively, the housing assembly having a sidewall with an opening. The handle assembly includes a linkage assembly, a shaft assembly, a handle member and locking assembly. The shaft assembly has a shaft, where the shaft rotatably is disposed in the opening and structured to move between a first and second position. The handle member has an elongated body and an elongated grip extending generally perpendicular to the handle body. The handle body is coupled to, and structured to rotate, the shaft. The locking assembly has an elongated release grip. The locking assembly is coupled to the handle member and structured to selectively lock the shaft in at least the first position, and the release grip is structured to unlock the locking assembly. The release grip extends generally adjacent and parallel to the handle grip. The linkage assembly is coupled to the shaft and structured to engage the trip bar so that when the shaft is in the first position, the trip bar is in the first position and when the shaft is in the second position, the trip bar is in the second position.

An electrical connector may be utilized to connect bus bars having a wide variety of configurations to a wide variety of electrical equipment, without modification to the bus bars, electrical equipment, or connector, with the exception of cutting the electrical connector to a desired length.

Universal connector for securing bus bars to electrical equipment

An improved fuse housing includes a main body and a cover and is configured to receive a fuse. The main body includes a plurality of fins that are configured to increase the surface area of the fuse housing in order to enhance heat dissipation. The main body is formed with a cavity for the fuse and a pair of conductors extending between the interior of the fuse housing and the exterior thereof for connection with the fuse. The cavity is configured to minimize the quantity of air between the fuse and the fuse housing to facilitates heat transfer. Each conductor includes excess studs for connection with the fuse to enhance heat conduction from the fuse. The cover is fastened to the main body with sufficient fasteners to permit the cover to be a stressed member to resist fracturing of the fuse housing from magnetic and other forces from the conductors.
