A skylight having a frame with a flanged lip about a skylight window unit periphery having water drainage notches formed therein help keep the windows clean. The notches in the frame flange radiates outward from a central light transmissive region of the window unit and have an inboard depth adjacent the window opening approximately equal to the flange thickness. Inclination of the skylight when installed allows water to freely drain from through the notches off the central light transmissive region of the window unit.

A skylight assembly is provided with a glazing unit which transmits light while limiting heat transfer. The glazing unit has spaced apart top and bottom layer defining an enclosed cavity at least partially filled with translucent insulating particles. A peripheral frame formed in situ from a polymeric material about the glazing unit forming a leak-tight joint.

The present invention provides a skylight frame design that is adapted to receive at least two panels of glass. The skylight frame comprises a stepped frame section that includes a lower step surface and an upper step surface. The lower step surface is adapted to receive a first glass panel so that a section of the first glass panel lies flush against the lower step surface. Similarly, the upper step surface is adapted to receive a second glass panel so that the second glass panel lies flush against the upper step surface. The skylight frame design of the invention is either incorporated into a skylight frame that may be attached to a curb unit on a roof or it may be an integral part of a skylight frame-curb assembly that also contains a curb section.

The present invention provides a window frame design that is adapted to receive at least two light-panels. The window frame comprises a stepped frame section that includes a lower step surface and an upper step surface. The lower step surface is adapted to receive a first light-panel so that a section of the first light-panel lies flush against the lower step surface. Similarly, the upper step surface is adapted to receive a second light-panel so that the second light-panel lies flush against the upper step surface. The window frame design of the invention can be either incorporated into a skylight frame that may be attached to a curb unit on a roof or it may be an integral part of a skylight frame-curb assembly that also contains a curb section. In another embodiment of the invention, a window frame design which directly incorporates one or more light-panels during molding is provided.

A skylight is formed with a pair of plastic panels having a similarly sized outer peripheral flange and a central region transparent to visible light, aligned in a stacked orientation with the peripheral flanges overlying one another and defining an enclosed central region in-between. Elongated two-sided elastic tape seal is interposed between and bonded to the outer peripheral flanges of elastic panels to form a sealed enclosed region. A peripheral frame is formed in situ about the plastic panels from a moldable polymeric material which entraps the peripheral flanges forming a unitary type structure with the elastic two-sided tape preventing intrusion of the moldable polymeric frame material into the enclosed region.

A support base for distributing a concentrated load over a contact surface is disclosed. The support base includes a body formed of moldable polymeric material having a top surface and a generally planar bottom surface. At least one recess is integrally formed in the top surface for receiving a support member. The support member transfers the concentrated load to the planar body. Furthermore, at least one through bore is provided in the support base, and the through bore extends from the top surface to the bottom surface of the support base for receiving a fastener. The through bore has a shaft portion and a relatively oversized cavity portion adjacent to the bottom surface for receiving fasteners such as nuts for securing bolts, as well as, bolt heads of different sizes and configurations. The support base has many advantages over the prior art for example, the base may be attached to different interface bracketry without be modified.

Support base for equipment

A support base is disclosed for distributing a concentrated load over a generally planar surface. The support base comprises a baseplate formed of a moldable polymeric material having a top surface and a generally planar bottom surface. A tubular sleeve is formed integral with the baseplate and extends from the top surface defining an upper portion and a lower cavity portion. A cap, also formed integral with the baseplate, is oriented at the distal end of the sleeve lower cavity portion, thus defining the cavity height. A through bore is formed through the cap generally coaxial with the cavity. An array of projections, formed integral with the baseplate, extend upward from a top surface of the cap and are spaced around the through bore such that the distal ends of the projections provide a generally planar upper mounting surface.
