A method of operating a shuttle elevator group including: detecting an arrival of an elevator car at a landing; determining a time since a previous elevator car departed the landing; determining a fullness percentage of the elevator car; determining an estimated time until a next elevator car arrives at the landing; and determining when the elevator car departs the landing based upon at least one of the fullness percentage of the elevator car, the time since the previous elevator car departed the landing, and the estimated time until the next elevator car arrives at the landing.

Control for shuttle elevator groups

A passenger tracking system includes a multiple of sensors for capturing depth map data of objects. A processing module in communication with the multiple of sensors to receive the depth map data, the processing module uses the depth map data to track an object and calculate passenger data associated with the tracked object to generate a passenger tracking list that tracks each individual passenger in the passenger data from an origin lobby to a destination lobby and through an in-car track between the origin lobby and the destination lobby.

Methods and systems for controlling elevator systems are provided. An illustrative example embodiment of an elevator system includes a destination entry device configured to allow a passenger to indicate an intended destination prior to entering an elevator car and at least one detector configured to detect a proximity between the passenger and at least one other individual that has not indicated an intended destination. A controller is configured to determine whether the detected proximity between the passenger and the at least one other individual satisfies at least one criterion indicating that the at least one other individual likely is associated with the passenger, will board an elevator car with the passenger, and will travel to the intended destination with the passenger. The controller is configured to assign an elevator car to carry the passenger and the at least one other individual to the intended destination when the detected proximity satisfies the at least one criterion.

Inferred elevator car assignments based on proximity of potential passengers

According to an aspect, a method includes receiving a passenger request to reserve an elevator car of an elevator system to travel to a targeted destination. At least two different travel options to the targeted destination are determined based on a plurality of elevator car travel plans comprising at least two elevator cars having different travel ranges. The at least two different travel options are output to an interactive display. At least one of the at least two elevator cars is reserved responsive to a user selection of one of the at least two different travel options.

Embodiments a controller configured to control the multi-door system, wherein the multi-door system includes a first door and a second door, wherein the first door is on a different side than the second door, and one or more sensors operably coupled to the multi-door system and the controller, wherein the one or more sensors are configured to detect one or more conditions. Elevator door control for deboarding passengers in multi-door elevators

An elevator system is provided and includes a sensor assembly and a controller. The sensor assembly is disposable in or proximate to an elevator lobby and is configured to deduce an intent of an individual in the elevator lobby to board one of one or more elevators and to issue a call signal in response to deducing the intent of the individual to board the one of the elevators. The controller is configured to receive the call signal issued by the sensor assembly and to assign one or more of the elevators to serve the call signal at the elevator lobby.

Depth sensor and method of intent deduction for an elevator system

An elevator system includes a first elevator car () constructed and arranged to move in a first lane () and a first propulsion system () constructed and arranged to propel the first elevator. An electronic processor of the elevator system is configured to selectively control power delivered to the first propulsion system (). The electronic processor includes a software-based power estimator configured to receive a first weight signal and a nm trajectory signal for calculating a power estimate and comparing the power estimate to a maximum power allowance. The electronic processor is configured to output an automated command signal if the power estimate exceeds the maximum power allowance.
