Apparatus associated with the production of hydrocarbons comprising a joint assembly comprising a main body portion having primary and secondary fluid flow paths, wherein the main body portion is attached to a load sleeve assembly at one end and a torque sleeve assembly at the opposite end. The load sleeve may include at least one transport conduit and at least one packing conduit. The main body portion may include a sand control device, a packer, or other well tool for use in a downhole environment. Included is a coupling assembly having a manifold region in fluid flow communication with the second fluid flow path of the main body portion and facilitating the make-up of first and second joint assemblies with a single connection.

Wellbore method and apparatus for completion, production and injection

A retrievable flow control device comprising a housing configured to sealably couple with a completion component. The housing may comprise a first port and a second port establishing a fluid pathway. The fluid pathway may regulate a fluid flow as the fluid flow passes through the fluid pathway. The housing may further comprise a coupling mechanism configured to releasably couple with a corresponding feature of the wellbore completion. The downhole flow control device may be configured to be retrievable independently of the completion component. The flow control device may comprise a check valve in the fluid pathway in order to substantially constrain the fluid flow to a single direction. In some cases, the flow control device may be configured to couple with a side pocket. In other cases, a concentric flow control device may be configured to couple with a screen base pipe, tubing, or stinger.

Disclosed herein is an assembly for use in a wellbore which includes a base pipe; a filter medium surrounding at least a portion of the external surface of the base pipe; and an internally profiled sleeve surrounding at least a portion of the filter media. A flow arrangement () for use in a well through one or more underground reservoirs, and where the arrangement () is designed to throttle radially inflowing reservoir fluids produced through an inflow portion of the production tubing in the well, the production tubing in and along this inflow portion being provided with one or more arrangements (). Such an arrangement () is designed to effect a relatively stable and predictable fluid pressure drop at any stable fluid flow rate in the course of the production period of the well, and where said fluid pressure drop will exhibit the smallest possible degree of susceptibility to influence by differences in the viscosity and/or any changes in the viscosity of the inflowing reservoir fluids during the production period. Such a fluid pressure drop is obtained by the arrangement () comprising among other things one or more short, removable and replaceable flow restrictions such as nozzle inserts (), and where the individual flow restriction may be given the desired cross section of flow, through which reservoir fluids may flow and be throttled, or the flow restriction may be a sealing plug.

A device and a method for selective control of fluid flow between a flow pipe () of a well and surrounding rocks (). The flow pipe () is provided with at least one flow-through particle filter () placed externally on the flow pipe () and between the flow pipe () and the rocks (). The filter () is connected in a flow-through manner to the flow pipe () via a flow channel (). The characteristic of the invention is that the flow pipe () is provided with an imperforated pipe wall inside of and vis-a-vis said flow channel () when installing the flow pipe () in the well. Then the flow pipe () may be perforated selectively inside of the flow channel () for one or several filters () along the flow pipe (), whereupon fluids may flow through the flow channel () and the filter () via perforation apertures () in the flow pipe ().

Device and a method for selective control of fluid flow between a well and surrounding rocks

The invention concerns an external well packer (&#x2033;) for a pipe string (), and also a method of leading at least one line () seamlessly past at least one packer (&#x2033;) along the pipe string (). What is characteristic of the packer (&#x2033;) is that it consists of a continuous inner packer ring () and a separate and continuous outer packer ring (), which in the operating position encloses the inner packer ring () in a pressure tight manner. The fitting surface of at least one of the packer rings () is provided with at least one through-going line slot ('), which in the operating position encloses a line () in a pressure tight manner. This allows continuous lines () to be stretched out past several such packers (&#x2033;).
