Systems and methods are provided related to a brace applied to a vehicle b-pillar. The brace may achieved reduced noise and vibration in the vehicle cabin. The brace may also achieve improved safety by preserving increased survival space for a passenger seated near the b-pillar in a side impact collision. The brace may include a base portion and two legs connected to the base portion at opposing sides. The based portion may include a first edge connected to a first side of the b-pillar and a second edge connected to a second side of the b-pillar. The legs may each connected a rocker at a distal portion. The shape of the brace may enable routing of force, energy, and/or load from the b-pillar to the rocker via the base portion and legs.

Vehicle noise vibration reduction structure

A vehicle includes a roof assembly including a roof having an outer facing surface and a roof ditch that extends below the outer facing surface. The roof ditch extends in a vehicle longitudinal direction between a front windshield and a rear window. A roof ditch sealer is located at least partially within the roof ditch. A mounting bracket for mounting a vehicle accessory is located in the roof ditch. The mounting bracket may include sealer dam portions that extend downward at opposite sides of a mounting surface of the mounting bracket to provide end stops for the roof ditch sealer.

A vehicle roof panel that is tunable with respect to the occurrence of vibration and the resonant frequency of vibration is provided. A frequency gain associated with the vehicle roof panel has been determined to be a function of the ratio between the width of roof beads impressed upon a roof panel and a gap between adjacent roof beads. When the ratio is between approximately 0.5 and 4.7, the frequency gain associated with the vehicle roof linearly follows values of the ratio. Accordingly, varying the width of the roof beads and/or the gap between adjacent roof beads such that the ratio remains between approximately 0.5 and 4.7, results in the vehicle roof panel being tunable.

Vehicle roof bead and bow structure for controlling resonance and vibration

A motor vehicle hood having a non-functional air scoop that appears to be a functional air scoop is provided. The motor vehicle hood can have a module with an opening and a top wall, a bottom wall and a pair of spaced apart sidewalls extending in a first direction away from the opening and providing an enclosure thereof. A grid can be attached to the module across the opening and the grid, top wall and bottom wall can be operatively arranged such that an appearance of an open passageway through the motor vehicle hood is provided when an individual stands a distance away from the hood and looks at the module.
