A lipstick container comprising a cylinder having a rotatable knob on one end and an opening at the opposite end. The cylinder is comprised of an opaque lower section and a transparent shield which extends from the top of the lower section to the cylinder opening. A lipstick is movably disposed inside the cylinder. The relative position of the lipstick with respect to the cylinder is controlled by rotation of the knob, and for application, the lipstick is moved so that a top portion of the lipstick extends outside the cylinder. For storage, the lipstick is selectively moved to its lowest position so that all of the lipstick is inside the cylinder below the level of the opening. In this storage position, the top portion of the lipstick remains above the lower section of the cylinder and, therefore, is visible through the transparent shield. In this storage position, a transparent cover is put on over the cylinder and the shield protects the lipstick from coming in contact with the cover. In addition, as both the cover and shield are transparent, the color of the lipstick can be determined without the need for removing the cover and moving the lipstick.

Lipstick container

A portable lamp is comprised of two formed plastic housing halves which are secured together by the engagement of headed projections extending from one of the housing halves and received over flanges in the other of the housing halves. The portable lamp is 'wired' by a plurality of metal conductor strips and a switch supported in one of the housing halves, one strip extending from a bulb mounted in a plastic bulb socket formed by the assembled housing halves to one terminal of the battery, another strip extending from the other terminal of the bulb to and contacting a first exposed terminal of the switch and another strip extending from the other terminal of the switch to an annular metal disc which receives the other battery terminal. The switch and metal conductor strips and annular discs are held in position by internal rib structures when the housing halves are assembled together. The base further comprises a bottom cap received in bayonet mounting on the bottom of the assembled housing halves, thereby providing access to the battery. The base supports a shade and shade bail, and more particularly each of the housing halves defines vertical flanges which together define two opposed vertical grooves in the assembled base, and each of the housing halves include projecting tongues which overlap to form the base of the vertical grooves. Openings extend through the tongues of both of the housing halves for receiving the inturned ends of the shade bail, wherein the shade bail contributes to the structural integrity of the base. The vertical flanges further define at least two parallel inclined grooves which support the shade bail and the shade at an inclined angle with respect to the base.

Portable lamp

A fluorescent lantern generally comprising a single piece chassis and a cover which removably fits over the rear portion of the chassis. The chassis has a unitary reflector section with a pair of integral sockets for supporting the electrical contacts of a fluorescent lamp. A compartment section for housing the battery and switching mechanism is integrally disposed on the back of the reflector section. When properly mounted in the compartment section, the batteries are electrically connected to the fluorescent lamp through the switching mechanism and the reflector sockets. The switching mechanism is also used to selectively make and break the electrical circuit from the battery to the lamp.

Fluorescent lantern

A wireless electric swivel head hand lantern generally comprising a lantern battery, a lantern handle and a swivel head containing a lamp. Metal strips are used to connect the terminal posts of the lantern battery to the lamp in the swivel head. Electrical contact is made without the use of wires, solder, rivets or the like by positioning the metal strips so that portions of the surface areas of the strips are conjoined. Portions of the metal strips are disposed inside the swivel head and configured in such a manner that electrical contact with the lamp is automatically made and maintained by positioning the lamp in the swivel head and securing it in place.
