A computing device comprises a touch sensing touchpad, a processor, and memory storing instructions to detect contacts at the touchpad over a plurality of frames of data. At each frame a measured coordinate and a current plurality of characteristics of the contacts are determined. The current plurality of characteristics of a current frame are compared to characteristics of an immediately prior frame. Where at least one of the comparisons satisfies a corresponding threshold, a coordinate jump is detected between the current frame and the immediately prior frame. Based at least on detecting the coordinate jump, a current frame intermediate coordinate value is set to an immediately prior frame intermediate coordinate value of the immediately prior frame, and a smoothing filter is applied to the immediately prior frame intermediate coordinate value to generate a smoothed immediately prior frame intermediate coordinate value, which is outputted.

Tracking touchpad touch input

Computing devices, touchpads, and related methods for adjusting a force threshold for touch input on a touchpad are disclosed. In one example, a computing device comprises a force sensing touchpad, a processor, and a memory storing instructions executable by the processor to receive a first contact on the touchpad. An area of touch of the first contact is determined, and an adjusted force threshold for touch input is determined based at least on the area of the touch. A second contact is received on the touchpad, and a touch force of the second contact is determined. Based at least on determining that the touch force exceeds the adjusted force threshold, a touch input on the touchpad is registered.

Adjusting touch input force threshold

One or more display color characteristics of an electronic device are managed using a light detecting sensor configured to output multiple color channels in a predefined color space. The light detecting sensor in the electronic device senses ambient light and outputs measurements in visible color channels of the predefined color space to characterize the sensed ambient light. A ratio of one or more measurements of one of the visible color channels to one or more measurements of another of the visible color channels is determined. At least one light source generating at least a portion of the sensed ambient light is classified based at least in part on the determined ratio, wherein the determined ratio indicates a color temperature component of the sensed ambient light. The one or more display color characteristics of the electronic device are adjusted based at least in part on the classifying operation.

Light source classifier

A digitizer system includes a designated sensing area comprising a plurality of sensing lines for sensing an electromagnetic signal emitted by a stylus, circuitry for detecting output from the plurality of sensing lines and for determining an interacting position of the stylus in the designated sensing area based on the output detected and a peripheral area contiguous to the designated sensing area. The peripheral area includes a plurality of conductive elements for connecting the sensing lines to the circuitry and at least one auxiliary sensing line extending over the peripheral area in the vicinity of the conductive elements and connected to the circuitry. The auxiliary sensing line senses the electromagnetic signal when it is emitted over the peripheral area and the circuitry detects output from the at least one auxiliary sensing line.

Digitizer system

System and methods for determining multiple interactions with a digitizer sensor are provided. Entries in a matrix may be provided based on measured and reference values associated with junctions in a digitizer sensor. An entry associated with at least two extreme values related to respective at least to dimensions of the digitizer sensor may be located. A junction associated with the located entry may be designated as an interaction point. In some embodiments, one or more interactions may be determined using a topographical-like evaluation of interactions.
