An arc chute assembly for use in an automatic transfer switch includes a housing including a pair of opposing sidewalls and a primary deionization plate coupled between the pair of opposing sidewalls. The primary deionization plate includes a tongue portion oriented substantially midway between the opposing sidewalls and extending toward a contact assembly. The tongue portion is configured to facilitate suppressing an electric arc originating from the contact assembly.

Arc chute assembly for an automatic transfer switch system and methods of assembling the same

A transfer switch including: a bus bar; a track parallel to the bus bar; a first power source connection proximate to the track; a second power source connection proximate to the track offset along the track from the first power source connection; a conductive core slidably coupled to the track, wherein the core includes a deformable array of conductive sections and the array includes contacting surfaces on opposite sides of the array; wherein the conductive core has a first position providing a conductive coupling between the bus bar and the first power source and a second position providing a conductive coupling between the bus bar and the second power source.

Linear automatic transfer switch and switching means

This disclosure describes examples of an apparatus to enclose components of a switching assembly of an automatic transfer switch. In one embodiment, the apparatus, or arc chamber cover, has a housing made of material with optical properties that permit observation of the interior of the housing. A mounting assembly couples to the housing. The mounting assembly secures the apparatus to the automatic transfer switch. In one example, the mounting assembly comprises feet comprising a material with mechanical properties that can withstand pressure and other forces inside of the interior chamber. The apparatus also includes one or more baffles to control the flow of gasses and control electric arcs within the switching assembly.
