An improved ink stick supply assembly is provided for a solid ink color printer which reliability feeds solid ink sticks from an ink stick loading bin to ink stick melt plates which melt the ink sticks on demand and guide the molten ink into individual color ink reservoirs in the printer print head. Low ink and empty ink level sensors are provided which advise the printer operator when to replenish the ink stick supply. A low friction material and spring loaded pusher blocks facilitate travel of the inks through the ink stick feed chutes to the melt plates.

Ink feed system

A paper handling system for a copier is disclosed. A paper sheet is wrapped around a drum of a copier by utilizing the exhaust air flow of a vacuum to lift the paper to the drum and to hold the paper sheet onto the drum. In addition, if a second paper sheet is lifted to the drum in a double pick situation, the second sheet is returned to a paper tray for subsequent copying thereon.

A separator for separating adjacent transparencies in a stack of transparencies, where the separator is characterized by enhanced permeability due either to the intrinsic material from which it is made, or due to a plurality of apertures, holes, perforations or the like provided through its surface. In use, the separator adheres to the transparency due to suction created by a vacuum transport mechanism of the reproduction machine such that the transparency and separator move as a unit along a paper path of a reproduction machine.
