The invention relates to a device for unidirectionally dispensing a hygienic cleaning and/or flushing liquid into the nasal and sinus cavities when an occluder is inserted into one of the nostrils. The liquid is contained in a pliable container which, upon insertion of the occluder into one of the nostrils and deformation of the container per se by squeezing, will cause the liquid to move via a passageway to the occluder and into the nostril. The device is provided with an anti-retractive valve which permits a unidirectional flow of the liquid only in a dispensing direction so any contaminated liquid that had been previously dispensed cannot reenter the container through the liquid dispensing passageway.

The invention relates to a device for handling a plastic lens to remove the same from an eye of a user. The device is of a tweezer or pincer type comprising two arms that are joined at one end to form a unit with the arms at an acute angle and having a common plane in which the arms can be moved one toward the other. Each arm is provided at its free end with an extension angularly disposed relative to its respective arm and to the plane of movement. A soft holder of generally ellipsoidal shape and having axially arranged peripheral slots is mounted on each extension. The angular relationship between the arms and the extensions and holders permits the device to be accurately aligned with the lens in place over the eye without obstructing the user's vision as the device is moved toward the eye for engagement of the lens within its peripheral edge by the holders. The contact lens is positively engaged within its peripheral edge by the slots in each holder and is folded as the arms are moved into a position of minimum seraration in which position the plastic lens has been effectively released from the eye for complete removal by the device.

The invention relates to a contact lens inserter which retains and holds a contact lens thereon by means of a viscous fluid that is placed in a cup-shaped part forming a portion of the inserter. The inserter per se comprises the cup-shaped portion and a handle integral therewith, the handle consisting of a first and a second portions which are angularly disposed relative to each other and to the planar surface of the cup-shaped portion, the latter being integral with the free end of the second portion. The angular relationship of the portions of the inserter is such that the fingers of the user that are manipulating the inserter are displaced from the user's eyes to such an extent that no sight or image interference is apparent to the user.

The invention relates to a device for cleaning and sterilizing a soft plastic lens in which the device comprises only three elements; namely, a container for receiving a cleaning or a sterilizing liquid and a lens, a strainer and a cap having a plurality of radially extending impellers. The cap encloses the open end of the container and with movement of the two elements so assembled in a back and forth direction, the cleaning or sterilizing liquid is agitated and swirled with the lens being moved therethrough. The strainer is used as an intermediate member that is enclosed by the cap, when the device is inverted after cleaning, rinsing and sterilizing of the lens, to permit the lens to settle onto the central partition of the strainer before the cap is removed to allow the sterilizing liquid to drain from the container. With removal of the container from the strainer, the lens is retained on the strainer and available for pick-up by a sterile inserter.

A holder for a dental x-ray film paquette is shaped for oral reception and retention by the teeth or gums of a patient. The film paquette is maintained in an exposure position on the holder by frictional engagement with a slot in the holder or with a number of projections on either or each of the facing surfaces of the slot. The holder is also provided with means external of the mouth for indicating the generally central position of the film paquette to aid the technician in properly positioning the x-ray head.
