An exercise machine for performing leg extension and leg curl exercises has a seat from the front of which a swing member depends. A swing link is pivotally connected near the lower end of the swing member and supports a pair of laterally extending pads. A rearwardly directed force is applied to the swing member to act in opposition to forward movement of the swing member and swing link when an exerciser pushes against one of the pads with one of his (her) legs when the exerciser is seated (leg extension exercise) or is standing facing rearwardly with the seat swung upwardly to an upright position.

An exercise machine has a head unit connected to a load and mounted on a parallel linkage such as to move up and down while remaining parallel to a starting position, A press frame is adjustably mounted on the head unit and presents a pair of arms with horizontal handles for manually pushing the press frame vertically in opposition to the load which may comprise a weight stack.

Physical exerciser

An exercise machine has multiple exercise stations including a press station at which exercises are performed in opposition to a selected amount of weight in a weight stack. The press station includes a swing link unit pivotally mounted at a fixed swing axis and providing a variable swing axis for a swing frame to be manipulated by the exercising person in press exercises. Movement of the swing frame is resisted by a cable loaded by the weight stack and connected to a lever portion of the swing frame. Provision is made for limiting downward swing of the swing link unit to fix the location of the swing axis when shoulder press exercises are to be performed, and for limiting swing of the swing frame toward the swing link unit when incline press exercises are to be performed. Incline press exercises and abdominal exercises can be performed when the swing frame is manipulated intermediate the positions used for performing incline press and shoulder press exercises.

Multi-station exercise machine with multi-exercise press station

An exercise machine has multiple stations at each of which two or more exercises are performed in opposition to a selected amount of weight in a weight stack. A cable and pulley system connects the exercise apparatus at the exercise stations with the weight stack in such a manner that only one pull cable in the system is connected to the weight stack.
