Disclosed herein are compounds having the formula: R&#x2014;(CO&#x2014;NH&#x2014;R&#x2014;R)and polymers made by moisture curing the compound. Ris an organic group, a dimeric fatty acid chain, a dimeric linoleic fatty acid chain, a trimeric fatty acid chain, a saturated form of any thereof, a residue of a phenalkamine compound, or a residue of a polyamine. Each Ris an aliphatic group or an aminoaliphatic group. Each Rcomprises an alkoxysilane group. The value n is a positive integer. The compound may be made by reacting a polyester with an amine having an alkoxysilane group or reacting a polyacid with an isocyanate having an alkoxysilane group. Also disclose are compounds made by reacting an amido amine with an epoxy compound.

Silane endcapped polyamide resins

A polyol having the formula Si(O&#x2014;R&#x2014;OH)(O&#x2014;R)R. Each Ris a divalent radical derived from diethylene glycol, triethylene glycol, dipropylene glycol, or tripropylene glycol, each Ris an aliphatic group, and Ris an alkyl group or aromatic group. The value m is 2 or 3 and n is 0 or 1. A process of making the above polyol by: providing a reactant having the formula Si(O&#x2014;R)R, and reacting the reactant with a diol having the formula HO&#x2014;R&#x2014;OH. An antifouling coating comprising a thermoset formed by reacting a polyisocyanate with the above polyol. The coating is not a foam.

Solvent-free, self-polishing polyurethane matrix for use in solvent-free antifoulings

A composition having a polyurea made by reacting a polyisocyanate with one of the below compounds. The value x is 2 or 3. A method of: providing a polyisocyanate and one of the below compounds, spraying the polyisocyanate and the compound with a plural component pump onto a surface to form a mixture, and allowing the mixture to cure to a polyurea. 

Aspartic resins

A compound having the formula below, where R is &#x2014;H or &#x2014;CH&#x2014;CH; n, x, y, and z are nonnegative integers; Ris an aliphatic group or oxyaliphatic group; and Ris an aliphatic group. 

Polyureas made from aminocrotonates

A polyol having the formula X(O&#x2014;R&#x2014;OH)(O&#x2014;R)H. X is Si, C, B, Ti, P, Al, Mg, or Ca. Each Ris derived from dipropylene glycol or tripropylene glycol, and each Ris an aliphatic group. m is 2, 3, or 4; n is 0, 1, or 2; and q is 1 or 2 when X is C, and is 0 when X is not C. A thermoset formed by reacting a polyisocyanate with the polyol. An antifouling coating containing the thermoset and optionally a biocide. An antifouling coating that is not foam formed by reacting Si(O&#x2014;R&#x2014;OH)(O&#x2014;R)Rwith a polyisocyanate. Each Ris an alkyl group or aromatic group.

A polymer made by reacting a polyisocyanate with a compound having the formula below. Ris an organic group. Ris an aliphatic group. Ris an aliphatic group. The polyisocyanate reactants are at least 50 mol % aromatic polyisocyanates. The reaction forms urea groups from the isocyanate groups of the polyisocyanate and the NH groups of the compound. 

A method of making a polymer by providing an imine and reacting the imine with a polyisocyanate in the presence of a hydroxyl group. The imine is a polyaldimine, hydroxyaldimine, polyketimine, or hydroxyketimines. The polymer has urea linkages formed from the imine and polyisocyanate and urethane linkages formed from the hydroxyl group and the polyisocyanate. The polymer has at least as many urea linkages as urethane linkages. A polymer having urea units and urethane units having a molar ratio of at least about 2:1. A polymer comprising a urea-urethane repeat unit.

Polyenureas and method of making the same

A polymer made by reacting a polyisocyanate with a compound having the formula below. Ris an organic group. Ris an aliphatic group or oxyaliphatic group. Ris an aliphatic group. The reaction forms urea groups from the isocyanate groups of the polyisocyanate and the NH groups of the compound. 

Polyureas made from aminocrotonates and enaminones

A polyurethane coating made by: applying to a surface a polyol composition and an isocyanate composition, such that a mixture of the polyol composition and the isocyanate composition is formed during the application; and allowing the mixture to cure to the polyurethane coating. The polyol composition has a polyol monomer having the chemical formula: Ris a divalent radical selected from aliphatic, aromatic, and ether-containing group. Ris a monovalent radical selected from aliphatic, aromatic, ester-containing group, ether-containing group, and acrylic-containing group. Ris free of &#x2014;O&#x2014;CH&#x2014;CH(OH)&#x2014; groups, and the polyol monomer is free of epoxy groups and amino hydrogens. The isocyanate composition comprises an isocyanate compound having at least two isocyanate groups. The polyol composition or the isocyanate composition comprises a water scavenger. The polyol composition or the isocyanate composition comprises a polyurethane catalyst.

Polyurethane coating

A polyol monomer comprising the formula: Rand Rare &#x2014;H, aliphatic, aromatic, or ether; Ris aliphatic, aromatic, ester, ether, or acrylic, and Rcontains a hydroxyl group, Rcontains a hydroxyl group, Rcontains &#x2014;O&#x2014;CH&#x2014;CH(OH)&#x2014;, or any combination thereof. The polyol monomer may be made by reacting an epoxy and an amine. Either the epoxy contains more than one epoxide groups, the amine contains a hydroxyl group, or both. A thermoset made by reacting the polyol monomer with a polyisocyanate.

Diols formed by ring-opening of epoxies

A polyol monomer comprising the formula: Ris aliphatic or aromatic, Ris aliphatic, aromatic, ester, ether, or acrylic, and Rcontains a hydroxyl group, Rcontains &#x2014;O&#x2014;CH&#x2014;CH(OH)&#x2014;, or both. Ris not a Cor larger linear, unsubstituted aliphatic when Ris a residue of a bisphenol. The polyol monomer may be made by reacting an epoxy and an alcohol. Either the epoxy contains more than one epoxide groups, the alcohol is a polyol, or both. A thermoset made by reacting the polyol monomer with a polyisocyanate.
