A wireless charging coil is provided herein. The wireless charging coil comprising a first stamped coil having a first spiral trace, the first spiral trace defining a first space between windings, and a second stamped coil having a second spiral trace, the second spiral trace defining a second space between windings, wherein the first stamped coil and second stamped coil are planar to and interconnected with one another, such that the first stamped coil is positioned within the second space of the second stamped coil, and the second stamped coil is positioned within the first space of the first stamped coil.

Wireless charging coil

A wireless charging coil assembly comprises a first stamped coil having a first trace, a second stamped coil having a second trace, and a film having a first side and a second side. The first stamped coil is adhered to the first side of the film and the second stamped coil is adhered to the second side of the film. At least a first portion of the first trace of the first stamped coil and at least a first portion of the second trace of the second stamped coil are electrically connected.

A system for manufacturing an antenna includes a first stamping station, a pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) alignment station, a bonding station, a second stamping station, and a ferrite shield station. The first stamping station receives a sheet of metallic material and stamps the sheet to form an antenna including traces, contacts, a carrier connected to the traces, and a tie-bar connected between the traces. The PSA alignment station receives the stamped antenna and aligns a PSA area of a pad with the traces, the PSA area being substantially the same shape as the traces. The bonding station bonds the PSA area to the traces after it has been aligned with the traces. The second stamping station performs a second stamping of the antenna and the PSA area to remove the carrier and the tie-bar. The ferrite shield station bonds a ferrite shield to the antenna stamped for a second time.

Systems for manufacturing an antenna

A grounding spacer is provided. The grounding spacer comprising a circular body having a top surface, a bottom surface, and a central aperture, and a plurality of radially spaced penetration features, wherein at least one of the penetration features has at least a portion thereof extending from the top surface, and wherein at least one of the penetration features has at least a portion thereof extending from the bottom surface.

Grounding spacer

This disclosure relates to a two-piece shield comprising a fence having integrally formed sidewalls and an upper frame, and a lid. The lid attaches to the fence, which is attached to the circuit board. The fence is a relatively thick, flexible material for supporting the lid. The fence has a recess so that the lid can be recessed into the fence to position the lid closer to the circuit for enhanced heat absorption. The lid could be made of a thicker heat absorbing material than the fence, again to facilitate heat absorption. The lid can be press-fit into the recess of the fence. The fence and lid can have a dovetail configuration to retain the lid in the fence.

Two-piece solderable shield

A one-piece board level shielding element with a top cover peel panel is secured to a circuit board to shield and provide access to a shielded component. The shielding element is formed with a top having a peel line to facilitate removal of the peel panel with a peel tool. Once the repair is completed, a new cover is put on to the remaining side-walls to reestablish the shielding. The shield top cover is formed with a peel tool insertion slot and an adjacent peel start slot. The peel panel is removed by a peel tool having a peel hook mounted to a cylindrical peel key that is inserted into the insertion slot and hooks the cover at the peel start slot. Upon rotating the peel key away from the peel start slot, the peel panel is easily removed. A fixture plate may be used to support the peel tool and assist in removal of the peel panel.

One-piece board level shielding with peel-away feature

This disclosure relates to a multi-piece shield comprising a fence, a lid, and an insert. The lid attaches to the fence, which is attached to the circuit board. The lid is a relatively thick, flexible material for supporting the insert. The lid has a recess so that the insert can be recessed into the lid to position the insert closer to the circuit for enhanced heat absorption. The insert is made of a thicker heat absorbing material than the lid, again to facilitate heat absorption. The insert can be press-fit into the recess of the lid. The lid can have a dovetail configuration to retain the insert in the lid.

Multi-piece shield

An intermediate product for the manufacture of an antenna includes a pressure sensitive adhesive, one or more stamped traces bonded with the pressure sensitive adhesive, and at least one tie-bar connected between the one or more traces. The at least one tie-bar supports the one or more traces. The one or more traces can be stamped from a sheet of copper. The pressure sensitive adhesive can be a pressure sensitive adhesive pad having more than one pressure sensitive adhesive area.

Stamped antenna and method of manufacturing

A method of manufacturing a stamped antenna includes providing a sheet of metallic material for a first stamping. A first stamping of the sheet of metallic material is performed to form at least one antenna that includes traces, contacts, a carrier connected to the traces, and at least one tie-bar connected between the traces. A pad is provided with at least one pressure sensitive adhesive area that is provided on the pad in substantially the same shape as the traces of the antenna. The pressure sensitive adhesive area is aligned with the traces of the antenna, and then bonded to the traces of the at least one antenna. A second stamping of the at least one antenna and the pressure sensitive adhesive is then performed to remove the at least one carrier and the at least one tie-bar connected to the traces.

Method of manufacturing an antenna

A method for manufacturing and turning a near field communication antenna is provided. A method for manufacturing and tuning a near field communication antenna comprising loading one or more ferrite substrates onto a workstation, loading an antenna biscuit onto the workstation, the antenna biscuit comprising one or more interconnected antennas, stamping the antenna biscuit to form one or more individual antennas, applying the one or more individual antennas to the one or more ferrite substrates to form one or more antenna assemblies, and adjusting placement of the one or more individual antennas relative to the ferrite substrates to adjust functional properties of the one or more antenna assemblies.
