A positioning system for a rear view display device includes at least a first gear rod for positioning a cover plate, a second gear rod for positioning the cover plate, a spring jack, and a position sensing means. The first gear rod, the second gear rod, and the spring jack may include conductive material. The spring jack may be adapted to contact the first gear rod and the second gear rod. The position sensing means may be adapted to sense the position of the first gear rod relative to the spring jack with at least a first resistance value of a first conductive path between at least a first point on the first gear rod and the spring jack varying with the position of the first gear rod relative to the spring jack.

A light module for a light assembly of an exterior rear view device comprises a light source unit with at least one wire for an electric connection with a printed circuit board of the rear view device, in particular of the light assembly. The light module further comprises a housing unit supporting the light source unit and being provided with connecting and/or holding means for the attachment to at least one part, in particular a housing part, of the rear view device. The light module also includes sealing means for water and dustproof of the connection between the light module and the at least one part. A light assembly includes at least one of such a light module, and an exterior rear view device includes such a light assembly.

A sliding clutch for an adjustment device of a rearview device of a motor vehicle comprises two plastic parts. A rearview assembly for a motor vehicle includes a dome, a foot attachable to the motor vehicle, a head rotatable relative to the foot, the head including at least one base body with a bearing opening for receiving an axis of rotation associated with the foot, where the foot is shaped together with the dome as an injection molded part, the dome includes at least one first stop element for engagement with at least one complementary second stop element of a cap nut screwed onto the dome, the cap nut providing a stop for a spring which extends around the dome, and the cap nut is an injection molded part.

Rearview assembly for a motor vehicle

An improved rear-view device for a motor vehicle includes an electronic device with at least one housing device, comprising at least one floor piece and a cover piece configured to be arranged on the floor piece. The floor piece and the cover piece, in the joined state, delimit an at least almost completely closed cavity. At least one first retaining means of a retaining unit, fixes the housing device in or on the rear-view device. At least one electronic module comprises at least one conductor unit and at least one contact means connected with the conductor unit. The conductor unit is arranged on a surface of the floor piece and/or cover piece and turned towards the cavity. The conductor unit comprises at least one carrier and at least one conductor track applied directly to the carrier. The contact means extends through the cover piece and/or through the floor piece with at least one protruding contact section and is accessible externally. The at least one carrier of the at least one conductor unit is formed at least in sections by a functional surface of the floor piece and/or the cover piece adjacent to the cavity and turned towards the cavity. The cover piece and/or floor piece forms a common component with the at least one first retaining means of the retaining unit.

An electronic circuit board unit for an electronic module installed in a vehicle rear view device. The electronic circuit board unit has a base plate, at least one printed circuit board, and at least one plug connection for an electronic and physical connection between the printed circuit board and the base plate. The electronic circuit board has at least one first receiver for mounting an electronic consumer unit of the electronic module and being attachable or attached to the base plate or to one of the at least one printed circuit board. There is at least one second connector attachable or attached to the base plate or to the at least one printed circuit board for connecting at least one further electronic consumer unit of the electronic module to the driver circuit of the base plate. This configuration provides either n printed circuit boards and n+1 of electronic consumer units, with n being an integer number of 1 and above, or a plurality of printed circuit boards is provided, with each circuit board comprising at least one first receiver and at least one second connector.
