An apparatus and method, according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a composite material selectively movable between an inactive position and an active position, and a control to apply a voltage to the composite material in response to a vehicle panel moving from a closed position to an open position to move the composite material to the active position to mitigate wind throb.

Active aero device to attenuate wind throb

An air extractor is provided for reducing wind throb in a vehicle. The air extractor includes a support having a first opening. A first flap is pivotally mounted to support frame in the first opening. The first flap is displaceable between a fully outwardly open position, a fully inwardly open position and an intermediate closed position. Further, the flap is tuned to a resonance frequency of between 12 and 18 hertz characteristic of the wind throb generated by the vehicle in which the air extractor is mounted.

Tuned air extractor to prevent wind throb in a vehicle

A panoramic vehicle sunroof system is provided. The panoramic sunroof system has a movable roof panel operable to define a sunroof opening extending generally from a front pillar to a rear pillar. A sunroof controller is configured to receive input indicative of vehicle speed and automatically control movement of the panel. The sunroof controller commands movement of the roof panel from a first open position to a second open position having an opening distance less than in the first position when speed exceeds a threshold. In the second position, wind noise is reduced.

Panoramic roof module for a vehicle

A false division bar assembly for minimizing wind noise generated during movement of a vehicle including a retractable rear window. The assembly includes a division bar mountable in a vehicle rear door window opening to create at least two air passages on opposite sides of the division bar within the vehicle rear door window opening, to thereby minimize wind noise generated during movement of the vehicle when the vehicle front windows are closed with the vehicle rear windows being opened.
